My bad, you're right. Through 7 years Shapre wasn't in TO's league. By the way here's their stats through 7 years.

TO: 512 catches / 7,470 yards / 72 TD's
Sharpe: 595 / 8,134 / 65

Well look at that Sharpe had more catches & yards through 7 seasons. You're an idiot.

more catches?? a whopping 83 more! why, golly gee willickers, Wammy! It's almost as if...it's almost as if Sharpe played the first half of his career on a bunch of godawful packers teams that literally had no other offensive threat besides himself, huh?? Willickers!

Sterling Sharpe was on his way to the HOF before that career ending injury.

-never missed a game in 7 seasons
-five 1,000 yard seasons (39 yards short of 6)
-led the league in catches 3x
-led the league in TD's 2x
-lead the league in yards once

He should be in the HOF but he wasn't better than Moss, T.O., Largent, etc....but it isn't his fault. Injuries ruined his career.

From '88 until '91 he had these great QB's throwing him the ball. Don Majkowski, Randy Wright, Anthony Dilweg, Blair Kiel, Mike Tomczak. Aslo in that span the Packers won 4, 10, 6, 4 games & had no playoff appearances.

The last 3 years of his career he had Favre. So it's not like he played on good Packers teams the first 4 years of his 7 year career.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Please continue though, it's funny.

he should be in the HOF but he isn't in the same breath as Moss, T.O. or others bc of longevity.

Don't care at all about longevity. He played long enough to show how dominant he was. Moss and T.O. aren't better football players because they didn't suffer a career ending neck injury. Those two simply had longer careers.

If you are talking all around WR it’s fitz by leaps and bounds.

Played half his career on the outside and half on the inside. Arguably the best blocking WR of all time. One of the greatest playoff performers of all time. One of the greatest coach/mentors to other players. One of the greatest off the field. One of the toughest of all time. The list goes on and on.

You could could certainly make arguments for several others mentioned, but fitz did everything, never complained, and always produces. He is the ultimate team first guy, zero diva!

no bias.. I swear

Right now (as of 12/23/19) it's DeSean Jackson.

After this year though- Larry Fitzgerald.

in no way does that negate my point. we have seen a plethora of very good players put up fantastic numbers because they were pretty much the only offensive option over the years. sterling sharpe is no different, in this regard.

now, allow me to translate that into something that you might understand a lil' better:

"derpity derp-derp, a'derp, derpa derpins."

clear?:dhd:

by the same standard, Sharpe is no better than them simply because his career was unfortunately cut short by a neck injury. who's to say that the packers get a sweet deal from another team and trade him away in his 8th season, and he goes to a team where there's a massive emphasis on the run, thereby reducing his overall output? or that the packers, themselves, draft a top-flight running back that takes touches away from him? or that he doesn't get some other type of injury that puts him out for a considerable amt of time, if not the rest of his playing career?

nobody with working eyeballs, whom are honest with themselves, will ever say that sterling sharpe was a better receiver than randy moss or terrell owens. it's beyond ridiculous.

That's some nice, nonsensical story you concocted. Fact still remains he dominated more during his 7 year career than either Moss or T.O. did in careers that lasted twice as long. Keep digging.

I'll go with Moss. I'm probably splitting hairs here, but I define best receiver as which receiver would be closest to 100 rating on all attributes (such as speed, catching, agility, etc.). I think best is different from great. The greatness of TO's career is probably close to Moss, but I think that peak Moss is closer to a 100 rating than TO.

When we say best, what criteria do we use.
Best deep threat? Likely Moss.
Best route runner? Largent
Best for impossible to cover? T. O.
Best on contested throws? Megatron
Best all around? Fitz.
There's a bunch of these guys on the list. To argue semantics of who is the best is dumb.
