I'll give you the fact that Saban is #1 on the best coaches list. My reason: Alabama does not ever play a bad game(very seldom at least) even when they lose. They don't take games off.

However, that doesn't mean that other coaches can be dismissed from the list like they have accomplished nothing.

Saban is #1 because of 6 national championships.

So he is a great coach because of just 6 games?

Yep, because winning national championships is about winning single games.

Just fucking pick one or the other. I say talent levels shouldn't matter, good coaches get results and make it to teams that are capable of it and for multiple pages I'm told it does matter that I need to take talent levels into account.

So I say fuck it, and start using that logic to mention other coaches. And then your dipass comes in and starts talking about how I need to not take talent levels into account because of what I said earlier.

So just fucking pick one.
Yes pick one. You say Frost didn’t do a good job coaching because Many coaches taking their teams with P5 talent going against G5 players would go undefeated because talent levels are no excuse but then unprovoked say Franklin did a better job averaging 8-5 becaus eyou have to look at what he is working with. You flip flop to whatever makes the SEC looks better.

If you can't understand that I was using the guidelines set out by others when I mentioned Franklin, then it's on you. Can't fix stupid.

And btw, last time I looked Franklin was a Big10 coach and he did well at Vandy, who is the normal cellar team of the SEC along with Kentucky. So I'm not sure how that's supposed to make the SEC look better. The only person going on about the SEC is you.

Jim Harbaugh: 28-11 in 3 full seasons at Michigan.

Those numbers have GOT to put him in the top 50 coaches in the playoff era of college football!

Lincoln Riley is 1 for 1 in CFP appearances.

It doesn't suck.

You don't really believe that do you? If it doesn't matter, why even recruit?

If we are disregarding talent levels. And FCS wins are being tallied in the totals. That also means it doesn't matter that UCF is a mid major....I would think getting results with less resources is more impressive imo.Frost got results gotta give him props.

I'm talking about handicapping coaches because of talent level, not that talent level doesn't matter on the field. Getting talent and getting to the jobs that can recruit talent are all part of the job and requirements for being among the best coaches.

Otherwise it's just potential. Scott Frost for example did great at UCF, playing a G5 schedule and a bunch of weak teams. He showed potential, but he hasn't done anything at the top level.

Saban is a great coach because of all the games he won to put him in position for those six national championships.
