Dalton is nothing more than an average game manager. No arm. Little to no mobility. Short as shit. Red hair. This doesn't win in the NFL.

I dislike him a great deal. I think he's all but peaked already.

Again, GB, NE, SD, and NO, all have good role players at WR. They don't have Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss. Teams don't need that. They need one guy like that and then guys around him to do the different things. A guy like Shipley who goes across the middle and makes catches. A solid TE. A possession guy. There's not enough balls to go around for two #1 guys who are going to want to be the main target.

I don't know...Jennings is pretty good. So is Colston. The offenses they run with Rodgers/Brees is just so good, that they are able to exploit so many mis-matches.

They also use Finley/Graham/Gronkowski out wide like a WR creating more mis-matches. Something the Bengals need to do more of with Gresham.

Jennings is good, Colston is good, but they WR corps of those teams are made up of role players and guys who developed into great team players. They didn't go out and draft 2 top 5 WRs to build with. The last team that did that was Detroit, and they were ridiculed for it, even before they all busted.

Here's Dan Shonka (former NFL scout for several teams) on Mark Barron "He's better when he plays close to the LOS. He can run with TEs and backs." Sounds familiar. Sounds like all the shitty safeties we've had over the years. Pass.

Too many holes to fill to spend both/multiple picks.

F/A is going to be key. If they can find at least one guard, and a WR then the draft can focus on another Guard, a CB, and an additional depth.

And at least one safety.....

Yes...and a safety. That is another need for sure. I would like F/A to shore that up, and then draft an additional safety as well...though I think we'll see Mays next year as a starter now that they've had him for a year to work out whatever issues he's had, though I'm not holding my breath.

We'll see, I guess.

I would try to fill the CB and guard positions before safety. Safety is a need, but the safety play was serviceable before Hall got injured.

I'm not expecting much via FA...but I think they can find a good safety that will come here. Micheal Griffin outta Tenn would be a nice fit. As I see it the biggest needs are in order:

1. LG
2. RG
3. SS
4. CB
5. RB
6. MLB
7. DT

When was the safety play serviceable. I recall nelson being burned more than once early in the year and Crocker has been useless all year.

It was serviceable before Hall got injured. We had a very good defense for much of the season. Earlier in the season Clements was the weakest link followed by Crocker. Hall allowed us to do a lot of different things on defense and I'd speculate to the extent our safeties could make more decisive decisions (chosing side in pass coverage or providing run support) knowing Hall was on one side. After Hall got injured, it exposed our secondary in pass and run coverage and especially Crocker.

1. LG
2. RG
3. CB
4. S
5. RB
6. MLB
7. DT

Our safeties still sucked but your order is pretty close. I'd probably move safety ahead of one of the G positions.

I agree the guards should be the first priority, but I wonder if the Bengals agree with that assessment....they've had a couple of years to address it, and they seem, for some idiotic reason, to actually like Livings.....Zimmer also has always seemed enamored of Crockett, which I don't understand at all....something must happen to your quality assessment of personnel after a couple of years being bengalized....

I say we need 1 OG, 1 CB, 1 S, then a RB and another OG. However those 1st 3 are the main priorities i believe, in that order.

I agree with your order if they can squeeze one more year out of Bobbie Williams, which is really in question right now.....They simply must get Nate Livings off the field, and I'm not even sure they are aware of that.....after all, these guys extended Cook as if he was an All Pro.....

I'm not ready to give up on Boling yet either. This kid looked really good at times, I just think we may have had him on the wrong side of the field.
