BTN is trying hard to push this fabricated rivalry down our throats. Seriously, did Chuck Long even play against Nebraska when he was at Iowa, and the same with Davidson? They've played 10 times in the last 65 years.

I will say this, I would have been at the game regardless, I also say this never truly having to have dealt with snow before. A year ago the roads were so bad I could only drive 5 mph and still nearly spun out twice.

Never driven on snow? I would love to see you do it.

On Saturday, my wife saw an interview on the internet where two college girls drove from Ames, IA to Moline, IL in the AFTERNOON, after the storm had ended. They had counted 147 cars and trucks in the median.

Lots of big talk coming from someone that has never driven on snow, let alone in a snowstorm where the snow is coming down and you can't see and that driver behind you next to you might not be as good a driver as you.

Iowa played Nebraska in 1981 and 1982. Long would have redshirted 1981 when Iowa beat Nebraska. His 1st game as starter was as a freshman vs Nebraska in 1982. Nebraska won 42-7, or something like that.

When I made my original comment I completely forgot about the snow. You have to remember too, the last time I drove in that weather my tires were not set up to ride in it and the roads were not prepped. Don't think it would make a difference, it is not something I envy.

There is a Lincoln Police press conference and 8:30 AM tomorrow that might have more bearing on the game than this drivel of a preview.

Iowa is 11-0 and doesn't beat themselves. Iowa has played a crappy schedule, hello Big Ten West Division, but their five toughest games have all been on the road. Iowa State, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Indiana, and Nebraska. Beathard plays consistent and doesn't make very many bad decisions.

Nebraska is 5-6 and is rated 100 in penalties per game, rated 115 in turnovers per game, and rated 124 in passing yards allowed per game. Nebraska has lost to a 7-4 Miami, 8-3 BYU, 2-9 Purdue, 9-2 Northwestern, 8-3 Wisconsin, 5-6 Illinois. Tommy Armstrong can play lights out, and then turn right around and play like a dumpster fire.

The stadium should be rocking on Friday and hopefully Nebraska can ruin Iowa's season.

I expect an Iowa win, but I do not see Iowa blowing out Nebraska.
