As a player, should Pete Rose still be in the Hall of Fame?

What's really damning is that he denied it for decades. If he would have admitted it when it first happened, he would have been voted into the HOF years ago. Now, I really don't see him getting in any time soon, especially with all of the recent scandals from the previous decade +. MLB will try to 'clean house' and his chances really diminished after the last few years of steroid scandals.

There's no evidence that he ever bet against his own team, or tried to rig a game in any way. I think that enough time has passed; the ban should be lifted, and he should be let into the Hall.

I also don't think he has given baseball a bad name since either. It's sad because one of the most honored hall of famers (Ty Cobb) was hated by his peers. On Ken Burns baseball documentary, he said that only 2 of his teammates and opponents showed up to his funeral.

There was a time he jumped in the stands and beat a handicap man half to death, but Pete Rose gambled so there's no room for him.
