We didn't even run our normal
Offense vs WK... It's almost like it was a scrimmage game! Getting timing routes down and taking shots down field.
I'm not concerned with the Arky game one bit! It's gonna be another tune up game now!
We have yet to see our team play a "real" game... They play 1 qtr, then cruise the rest of the game rotating nearly the whole team...

Hey, don't get me wrong..... I am very happy how we passed the ball around, but the O-line & our RB's lacked the "magic". Saban has plenty to work with this week in game prep for the Hogs.

While I'm disappointed in the offensive line, and the fact that we gave up 6 sacks, we also have to understand that situation from Western Kentucky's POV.

They can't come in and play normal defense and stop us, their best chance is to send all kinds of blitzes at AJ all day long, this will stop the run, and hopefully get to AJ enough to where he makes mistakes in the passing game. Luckily for us, AJ played good, receivers got open, and we made some big plays. Unfortunately for the O-line, and Barrett Jones said this himself, WKU was sending 7 and 8 guys toward AJ, and we only have 4 guys blocking.

That is 3 sometimes 4 extra guys overtaking our line, and who's gonna block them? A running back? TE? That's 6 blockers, whose got the other guy or two?

So I can kinda understand the offensive line having some trouble, especially against a defense that has nothing to lose by going full force with the blitzes.

Either way you wanna look at it though, it was a perfect situation for us. The team got a win, while also getting a reality check.
