Through the years there have been players that thrived in the spotlight of NYC and others who wilted in the same spotlight.
Yeah I'm more mocking the sentiment of "players do very well until they come to the yanks" when 4 of your 6 best hitters were pretty meh before coming to NY

Cmon man LeMahieu was decent in Colorado. He won a batting title. And everybody saw what Gio Urshela was going to be.

Yeah he won 1 batting title surrounded by mostly below average offensive seasons to the point where even with his tremendous glove he could only get a 2-year deal on the open market. He's been a top 10 hitter in the league since joining the Yankees. Can't imagine they saw that coming.

Damn, I knew the Yankees signed him to be a backup. But I just looked at his stats and I was under the impression he was a lot better then his stats say he was in Colorado. He has had 3 100+ OPS+ seasons the one he won the batting title and the two in New York. Looks Like I should have put the whole sentence in green. LOL:suds:

Would have been curious to hear the take on YES.

The Tampa broadcasters were ready to fight, but I honestly didn't see what the big deal was. Chapman's thrown like 3 innings the whole season-really don't think he was trying to put one in Broussard's earhole.

I don’t blame the Rays for being pissed off for what Chapman did. I would be too if someone threw a fastball over my head like that. But at least it will be interesting the rest of the season each time these two meet.

I just don't know how everyone's so sure it was deliberate. Chapman's not noted for pinpoint control.

And tonight is the last game between the two, unless they meet in the playoffs.

You should have heard the Tampa broadcast team, absolutely beside themselves. Complaining that Morton should hit LeMehieu with the first pitch tonight, but then he'll get run and they'll screw themselves.

Seems like much ado about nothing. I didn't even know the Yanks were pissed the Rays had been pitching them high and tight.

But if it lights a fire under this team, I'm 100% on board with that.

Cash basically gets caught saying that the pitch that sailed by Romine's head a few years ago had intent and the excuse from Kittredge in that post game interview was laughable.....

I think he's a hell of a manager, but that rant last night was a little much, especially when you watch the clips of all the times they dusted Yankees.

What a debacle.

When they pitch, they can't hit.

When they hit, they can't pitch.

I’ve said it forever

Aaron Hicks is a 4th OF on a good team

they continue to bat this man 3rd, it’s absolutely sickening
