Craig Nettles fucking 76 yesterday

76 couldn’t believe it

Damn.

The king of the one liners, and an amazing defensive 3B.

He used to piss off George no end, and I loved him for it.

I met him about ten years ago by chance in a bar after he had been doing autograph signings....The guy is hilarious, talked about the Red Sox rivalry.....Rollie Fingers, Goose and Fred Lynn were there as well......

He was a Padre then, after he finally burned that last bridge to the boss.

I think he should be in. Great defensive 3rd baseman and a good hitter. He's just one of several 3rd basemen I think have been snubbed. Rolen, Bell, Bando, Boyer and Dick Allen should also be in IMO. Maybe Darrell Evans though I don't think his peak is that good (only two seasons in the top 10 in WAR) and his 24.3 WAA is well below most HOFers.

Nuke LaLoosh....

Pretty much. He had a few real stinkers that ballooned his ERA (14 runs of his 18 runs allowed came in 4 appearances)

I don't expect to see Casas this year. Maybe mid/late 2021. I'd say he's easily the 2nd best prospect in this system, granted it's a bad one. But I like his power/eye a lot

One of my favorite Nettles moments.

Two things

1 How many times does Nettles have to tag Brett before he is out? If you notice a few of Nettles punchs are with his glove and the ball is still in there.
2 I don't remember Freddie Patek being that small.
