I love the Sandman. (Watched Happy and Waterboy last night.)

But I can’t put him on a list with any of those guys other than Eddie Murphy.

He avoids all things politics, which has made him universally loved. But also somewhat shifts where he can grouped.

I have Rock in the second tier.

the Rock is such a polarizing actor IMO... I cant think of any movie he was in that was GREAT.... or even great because of him... But he just became such a popular figure that he has to be a top 10 current actor... people do love him so much that people will see anything because he is in it...

IDK... might not think of him as one of the greats... but thats because he is mostly a comedy actor... But there are not many actors ever who made more movies... made better movies... and have fans come see movies simply because they are in it...

3. He is still relevant because he knew his schtick and knew that it wouldnt work great as he aged... so he started creating family comedies....

I like him because he is well into his Fuck You money stage, so he just makes movies that he enjoys making and casts his buddies and family in them. If they are good, great (they typically are not). If they are fun, great (they typically ARE fun). But he is friends/family first, every time. And I have MAD respect for that. If I like it, he doesn’t give a shit. If you like it, he doesn’t give a shit. Who can’t respect that?
