Wow 3 things that immediately pop out......

LOL @ Yankees paying A-Rod $29 million

2nd and third.....I don't know what's worse, Teams like Yankees and Dodgers over $225 million or the Astros only spending $25 million......

I'm not in favor of a salary cap per sey, but there should not be that big of a difference between the highest and lowest salaries......

I think they need to do something with what they have in place, maybe make it more of a financial hit to go over a soft cap, but they can't just then take the money and give it to greedy owners that are gonna field a team for $25 million and pocket the rest of the revenue sharing from the high market teams......

Interesting that only three teams are paying the top 6 salaries. The last two players I'd pick are Teixeira and A-Rod.

Houstons like the 4th largest city in the US. No reason for a market like that to embarrass themselves. Its ridiculous. F the yanks tho. Im glad they're paying a rod that much. Hopefully these bad contracts start showing on the win/loss record.

I'm sure most have seen it...

I always enjoy reading Cot's team-by-team payroll lists at BP. You can also see their futre obligations. (So nice to see that Boston only has $29M booked in 2015.)

Boston Red Sox | Cot's Baseball Contracts

And to avoid future confusion - Luxury tax calcualtions are based on Average Annual Value. The AAV is usually a different number than the annual payroll.
