One thing the Yanks have going for them if they make it to ALDS is that they have the 2nd the best road record in the AL as only the Rangers play better baseball on the road than the Yanks

Good for the Jays to get 2 out of 3 from the Yankees, now this Jays fan will be hoping they get that many vs. the Rays this weekend and the Yankees falter over the weekend.

Wow, the Yankee forum is dead.... Anyway, I don't like the fact that nobody on this team can hit for average. Gardner was going very well there for a good stretch, but even he has dropped below .270. Nobody gets on base for any of the big boppers. Last I saw , McCann was below .240 with less than 30 HRs and less than 90 RBI (Okay, now it is 91). Tex - 31 HR, 79 RBI. That is disgusting. Me, I like to see RBI numbers 4 times the HR total. Not terribly realistic, but that is what I like to see. With 31 HR, you should have at least 90 RBI. Ellsbury hitting less than .260? Terrible. A-Rod? .251 32 HR 83 RBI. Disgusting again. Pitching falters, and you get an early lead on the Yankees, and they are dead. Nobody can get on base to produce any catch-up.

Rich Hill has a 30:2 K:BB ratio in 23 innings in three starts for the Sox. He's doing what he can to coax the Sox into giving him a look for 2016, that's for sure. It's a small sample size, but the uptick in command is kind of intriguing. Especially considering how wild he was years ago as a starter.

Sox bring in Wren, though thankfully, it'll be as a "talent evaluator" and he'll have less say than DD/Hazen. Can't imaging him doing much harm in such a role. Dombrowski reportedly has interest in bringing in Dipoto in some sort of role as well, though he's waiting for his other job interviews are resolved.

Also, Mookie's catch to preserve the shutout for Hill:

Still think Baltimore could swing a big trade. The Duquette nonsense can't be helping things in their front office.

Jays have a lot riding on young talent. I think they're better on paper but if Stroman can't replicate/improve on last season, if Hutchinson remains inconsistent, if Pompey can't handle being the everyday CF, if Sanchez can't find consistency as a reliever/closer, and if Buherle and Dickey show their ages, the Jays will be in sell-off mode come July. Also, lets not forget their SS is a human band-aid and Bautista/EE are prone to DL stints as well.

Reading some ancient history, and the funny thing is, arguably every one of your points occurred, yet the Jays sit on top of the AL.

Go Jays Go !
(been waiting 22 years to say that)

I'd say maybe besides Dickey showing his age (this was probably his best season here) and Jose/EE getting hurt (fingers crossed), it seems I was dead on. Be nice if Sanchez could smarten the fuck up and get back to being lights out.

It's definitely an exciting time around here. That walk-off yesterday...wow.

A Jays win and a Yankees loss means the Jays win the East, should be 2 good games to watch tonight for sure.

Red Sox run differential now sits at -2. It's +74 over their last 54 games (they're 32-22 over that span).

Not for nothing, but John Farrell hasn't been in the dugout for 41 of those 54 games.

I know it may seem an insensitive time to do it, but I really think the Sox need to move on from him in order to progress. Boy would I not want to be the guy to do that firing though.

That's one factor. I've never really cared for Farrell as a manager. Even in 2013, I was bitching about him. Lol.

Cherry picking games Nava?:suds::kidding:

Boston has looked a lot like the team we kept hearing about in preseason.

This is exactly what I talk about with this rotation.

Everyone is consistently inconsistent except for Tanaka and lately CC.

I would have CC as our game 2 starter right now. Pineda would not pitch until game 4.

Right on Cue @obxyankeefan

From Andrew Marchand " The Yankees' Michael Pineda, with his hands on his hips, looks dejected as he is already down 3-0 to the Red Sox with one-out in the first. Pineda has not pitched like a No. 2 starter for some time now. The trend has continued so far tonight."

This yankees team is awful. No way in hell they win the wildcard game. I'm so over this season
