Wonder how many more games against the Phillies the Sox have

Glad your excuse is already built it.

Having this year's Phillies as their natural NL rival is advantageous, but it's not like having the Mets is much worse, and the Yankees capitalized, going 4-0 in those games.

The Red Sox/Phillies series is not the difference maker for the season.

I hear you but sometimes it isn't about that. You just play in a division with a great team. Can you really say a team who finished with 94 wins and 2nd best record in the league didn't take care of business because the division winner won 97 games while they end up facing a WC team who won 87 games or something? This was just an example btw. Not sure this happened yet.
I'd rather they just shit can the wild cards all together and go back to two division leagues. Cardinals won the World Series one year in which they went something like 82-79 or 83-78 in the regular season. That's criminal.

The Brewers have won 8 of the last 10 and only picked up 1 game on the Cubs

I cant remember the last time the Red Sox played a team that cant wait for the season to end

And the cherry on top is that they will play the Astros AAA team to finish off the season

Fuck that noise

Just for that, the YANKEES ARE COMING!

It's a sudden death scenario. Of course the ratings will be good. But that, in itself, is not evidence that the fans prefer a one-game playoff format over a three-game or a five-game.

Well, since MLB want's the ratings, it's likely here to stay.

Maybe you could start a national poll to get the "voice of the people." lolz. In the meantime, I'll enjoy being on the side of the debate that gets what it wants.

Yanks won 13 or 17 and not sure if they even gained ground on Boston in that time period. Rough life

Welcome to the party, do the Cubs have the Red Sox schedule?
Sorry you only went 6-8 against the A's and White Sox while the Red Sox went 9-5. There's your difference right there.

Dirts mad when the sox play an NL also ran. He's mad when they play the second best team in the AL.

And for his encore, dirt will tell us what a test it will be for the Yankees to play the last place team in the east because it's an away series.

That I can understand.

I think it boils down to what are the playoffs for. If you're truly trying to identify the best team in baseball, it'd be best to eliminate divisions all together. I understand there's a spectrum between this scenario and the current one, but what I'm discussing is the reason for having the playoffs.

On one hand, I'd like that because much more often than not, "champion" would be synonymous with "best."

On the other hand, I love the drama of the playoffs. Can't really see giving that up, and I certainly don't see MLB giving up the playoff games or the fact that so many teams are in the playoff (read: wild card) hunt late in the season.

MLB is smart, everyone knows Houston will sit everyone that last series, knowing they face the Sox the following week

They also thought the Royals would be the Royals of the past 2 years, and lined them up against the Yankees while the Sox play the Reds

Youre all gonna pay, especially you

Hmm 2 games at home against the Reds and 2 games on the road against the Reds

or

3 games on the road against the Reds

Who had it easier?

I don't need a poll. It's easy to determine what the voice of the people is. It's the opposite of whatever the media is telling us the voice of the people is. George Orwell nailed it.

Especially Redfoot

<kneels to pray>

Oh, my dear fucking Lord. Please. PLEASE. PLEASE! Let the Indians eliminate the Yankees and Red Sox this postseason.

You do that for me, and I promise I'll set the hookers chained up in my basement free.

That royals game is a makeup from earlier in the year. Should have played in the rain when it was originally scheduled.

One game out in the loss column

Than you get the Red Sox first

I do wonder how hard the Stros will fight for that top spot
