I think you might be right on that. Everything Cherington touched turned to gold in his first year as GM. He probably started thinking it would always be that easy. Still no excuse to completely ignore the pitching like they did..... I can't kill him for signing Hanley and Panda. On paper, those moves made a lot of sense.

Either or would have been smart, while using the balance to sign Shields or Lester

That was my thinking

Those cheating Cards

Michael S. Schmidt of the New York Times reports that the F.B.I. and Justice Department prosecutors are investigating front-office officials for the Cardinals for hacking into the internal networks of the Astros.

Is this what you CBS folks call "red seating?"

Agreed. I didn't understand the need for both of them at the time. But the offense was so bad last year, I can see why he thought this was necessary. Getting rid of Middlebrooks and Nava and adding Panda and Hanley looked like a huge plus. Except that it wasn't!

All true

Apparently on the double, Simmons, the Braves SS thought he was kidding when Sandoval asked him for the ball

I would pull my nuts out of my pants -- not my whole package, just the nuts -- and rub them all over the ball and then hand it to Sandoval.

Paying Porcello more than Shields is confusing. The guy I wanted this offseason(knowing Lester was gone) was Liriano. Then I liked Volquez as a cheap option, too.

Me too

It upsets me to see Chappee so sad

Don't forget Rock. He seems like he'd be a really pleasant person to be around when Boston teams are winning and I'm sad we can't experience it with this season's Red Sox.

Between this Sox season and Rock being in charge of Brady's legal team, he can probably use a few Excedrin

Where does Hammer go when he disappears from his own board for an entire season?

Disappointed in the loss, but at least they battled back to take it into extrys. Going to mudstomp those Queens in Flushing tonight, though! So tired of them ripping off our best players: Syndergaard, d'Arnaud, Olerud, Tony Fernandez, Ricky Henderson...uhh...that fat guy who sucked...ahh, too many to mention, too many to mention...

Wait! D'arnaud is good now? He'll be so relieved to hear that.

I was pissed when they traded Cespedes for Porcello in the first place. I wanted nothing to do with Porcello.

Then again, I thought Panda would crush the ball in Fenway, so there's that. :L

Yes and I have to take shit from Lemi for your claim of 30 homers out of Panda.

I never said that about his HR's. My statement was that he would "rake in Fenway". I thought he would hit .300 with ease. I'm eating crow on that one. But it was Proto who was saying how much better Chase Headley was. We can all be wrong sometimes.

Wait! Is Lemi the fucker that was touting Jose Quintana before the season? I drafted that useless pile of shit because of him.

Yes. Lemi was predicting a White Sox Mariners ALCS too. He'll tell you he was kidding now, but he was dead serious at the time.
