Ok so this is my guess at the 2015 roster. I only have 2 QBs cuz I think have 3 QBs is a wasted roster spot. I drafted Garrett Grayson but I dont want him making the team. So I looked up 2015 FA QBs and just picked Ponder but if you guys want Gabbert back or a different FA im fine with that. I resigned Gore, Lloyd, Iupati, TJE, Skuta, Wilhoite, Cox and Culliver. I have us cutting/trading Brooks, Dahl, Martin and Stevie. I have us bring in Cobb as our slot speed WR thru FA. Okoye is a beast of a man and I finally have him making the 53 man roster. Hopefully Justin Smith comes back and I think we can talk him into it. Kieth Reaser and Kenneth Acker were 2 players injured last year I was thinking about them making the team but turns out I didnt have room for them. Jimmie Ward is listed at safety even tho he plays CB on nickel coverage. If we lost Reid or Bethea I figured Ward could play safety for us. Think I had a solid draft with DGB, Darby, Gurley, Ekpre-Olomu and Odighizuwa.

2 QBs - Colin Kaepernick, Christian Ponder (FA)
4 RBs - Frank Gore (FA), Carlos Hyde, Todd Gurley (3rd), Kendall Hunter
1 FB - Bruce Miller
6 WRs - Anquan Boldin, Randall Cobb (FA), Dorial Green-Beckham (1st), Quinton Patton, Bruce Ellington, Brandon Lloyd (FA)
3 TEs - Vernon Davis, Vance McDonald, Derrick Carrier
8 O-Line - Joe Staley, Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati (FA), Alex Boone, Daniel Kilgore, Marcus Martin, Joe Looney, Brandon Thomas

8 D-Line - Justin Smith, Tank Carradine, Glenn Dorsey, Ian Williams, Tony Jerod-Eddie (FA), Quinton Dial, Owamagbe Odighizuwa (5th), Lawrence Okoye
9 LBs - Patrick Willis, Navorro Bowman, Aldon Smith, Aaron Lynch, Chris Borland, Dan Skuta (FA), Michael Wilhoite (FA), Corey Lemonier, Nick Moody
6 CBs - Tramaine Brock, Perrish Cox (FA), Chris Culliver (FA), Dontae Johnson, Ronald Darby (2nd), Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (4th)
4 S - Eric Reid, Antoine Bethea, Jimmie Ward, LJ McCray

2 SPs - Phil Dawson, Andy Lee

If that's our draft I don't care who the coach is it was a successful offseason.

I like this team. Only one I don't see happening is Gurley in RD 3. Most have him going in the 2nd rd. If he didn't get hurt he would of been a top 15 pick. Overall great job. I would take that team. I would try and sign a top CB in the FA class.

Good posts but I'm looking at the FA market to fill some holes here. Call me an optimist but I still think there is a SB run left in this team. Problem might be cap issues. Still researching that. Plenty of time.

Yeah I agree on Gurley. But I did that mock draft and he was still on the board in the 3rd so I took him.

Yeah I just signed like 8 of our own guys but we can easily let guys like Skuta, Wilhoite, Lloyd, Culliver, Gore, etc. walk and bring in others. If we think Brandon Thomas can be good im also fine with letting Iupati walk even tho I want him back. But playing with the cap calculator I have got the 49ers 25-30 million under next years cap by cutting players I dont think are worth it anymore. I think 49ers would be smart to cut/trade Brooks 1st. He isnt worth 9.6 million and he has a bad attitude. If we can make the right moves of letting players go and sign others back I think we should be fine.

I had 5 million left over after this team but we have roll over money the cap calculator hasnt took into account yet. I was gonna say instead of bringing back Lloyd for just over 1 million maybe we could trade for Blackmon. But after looking up his salary he is due 5.7 million next year I dont think he is worth the risk. If he was making like 2-3 million I would say go for it.

I really like this..... Only exceptions I would like one upgrade on O-line with maybe trading one O-line plus for the upgrade.... and I would look to trade or somehow get rid of Vernon Davis only because I don't think Vernon can raise his arms above his shoulders as he never reaches up to catch a pass and I think if we can get someone else to take him anything we get for him could help the (hopefully) reload. I say again I think VD has a permanent injury/limitation to his arm movements and although I really like him he might help a team that has a QB that can get the ball to him where he can catch the ball more easily.(Edit) not a shot at Kaep but a top QB that is somewhat better at accuracy could use VD more than Kaep does at this time.

there's no Long Snapper?

if Gore re-signs, don't see us drafting a RB, especially in round 3.

don't see us signing Cobb, his price range makes it hard to gain value. Baalke sticks to value in free agency. Similar with Iupati, his price will be too high. We don't need Lloyd, especially if we draft a WR high.

don't see us "dropping" Acker and Reaser, then drafting two other CB's, they drafted them for a reason last season, and will give them opportunities to perform. ONE quality CB is more than fine, but don't see two?

don't know about Dorial other than he's big, so IF that is why we're drafting him, don't like it. we need the best overall, speedy WR we can get, even if smaller.

I forgot about Kyle Nelson. Fuck wasting a roster spot on a long snapper anyway lol. I guess I could drop Okoye or Moody.

Gore is just for one year so we need a RB. Thats why I drafted Gurley for the future. Gurley and Hyde would be a beast combo for years. I know we wont do it but I was able to sign Iupati and Cobb both for more than 10 million a year. I just picked Lloyd but it could be another drafted WR that makes the roster or a FA WR we pickup.

Yeah we might keep both Acker and Reaser or atleast one. But when Darby and Ifo fell I couldnt pass on them. Ifo would be a 1st round draft pick and he was called the #1 CB in college before his injury.

Dorial isnt just big being 6'6 225 but they say he runs a 4.37 40 yard dash. Mega ran a 4.35 at the combine. If Dorial runs under 4.4 I dont see how we could pass on him. He has both height and speed.

yeah, LS is hard to add but a necessary spot. I would think Okoye over Moody, cause at least Moody plays ST's, and has game experience.

would be nice to draft every spot "for the future", but you can only do so much. So not saying that's a bad idea, but thinking RB is luxury should Gore re-up. We would view Gore, Hyde, and Hunter as all starting RB's. we could be better off "stashing" a player for O-line, CB, or DT?

oh ok, if there is 'great' value in Darby and Ifo, then do draft great value.

can Dorial catch well, use his size well? doesn't need to be a great blocker, but a willing one?

wow, if the positives are true, not a problem drafting this guy. However, "Off-Field Concerns" is a huge item AND able to negate all the positives? Our scouting staff will just have to do their homework first, then a big decision to draft him or not?

all that talent doesn't help if he's suspended?

Yeah he has been caught with weed twice. Once there was a pound of weed in the truck. So you know thats possession with intent to distribute. He got off so im guessing it wasnt his car but he should be putting himself in that situation. Then he got in a fight with his girl friend and pushed open her door and pushed he down a couple stairs and thats when Missouri finally said enough and cut him. So he has been a troubled kid and its a risk but he might be a once in a decade type of talent. Not playing football in a year I want to see his combine. If he murders it I hope we take him.

I been talking about him for 1-2 months now. This is my football crush this year in the Draft. Last year I said Evans and Beckham. This year DGB. Great upside.

As I've seen some other media say, @Duke_FB WR Jamison Crowder was the most impressive player at North practice in my eyes as well.
1:47 PM - 20 Jan 2015

Crowder was impressively quick coming out of his breaks and appeared impossible to cover in man-to-man situations. The ex-Duke star looked the part of an elite NFL receiver.

He is projected to be picked in the 4-6th round. He isnt very big 5'9 174 but he does have speed. This is later round WR we could go for if we look to draft 2 WRs.
