Another friggin lefty....

It'll be the battle of soft tossers and good changeups. Both guys averaged at 90 mph on their fastball in their 3-year careers.

Jackson - 8
Panik - 4
McCutchen - 9
Posey - 3
Longoria - 5
Pence - 7
Hundley - 2
Crawford - 6
Blach - 1

vs.

Gordon - 8
Segura - 6
Cano - 4
Haniger - 9
Cory's Brother - 5
Healy - 3
Heredia - 7
Freitas - 2
Gonzales - 1

I like the Mariners. They're in a tough division, but I hope they can get into the post season.

Nelly Cruz just went on the DL and will not be available to pinch hit this series. That's big for the Giants' relievers.

Cruz is the 2nd regular they've lost since the season started. The lineup still looks pretty good. Any way of convincing Blach that he is pitching against the Dodgers again?
Interesting that Belt sits. Hardly the worst of the regulars so far. In fact, he was starting to look better the past two games. Oh well. Time for Hundley.

Giants 6-10 lifetime vs. Gonzo. Pandabomb in that sample.

Dee Gordon 3-4 vs. Blach.

Sail those sailing sailors....

6-2 good guys.

Marco Gonzalez is still largely an unknown at the big league level (at least to Mariners fans), but last year he was coming off the TJ surgery. He's not overpowering for sure, but his fastball is around 92 usually from what I understand. He throws cutter, and it probably looks a bit faster than it is mixed in with his really good change. His curve is also effective. He's had a strong spring, so we'll see if it carries over. Gonzalez is one of the primary "Ifs" on the team this year.

If your pitcher had any sense he would pitch around both Cano and Haniger ( each batting .600 and raking everything )

Next 2 hitters for us are cold as ice ( Seager .100 and Healy .000 )

Whoever tried to convince Blach this is the Dodgers did a poor job. He looks awful and may not make it out of the 1st inning.
So the question is, will the offense do better than the series against the Dodgers?

I shudder to think that it can't do any worse. (Technically, it can.)

Noggin said in ST that there would be some 8-7 games. Hopefully, this is one of them.

Personally, my money is on a six pitch bottom of the first for the Giants. But then, I'm an optimist. :D

Looking at the stats, looks like his fastball has increased since his surgery (not unusual for TJ). Was 89.5 pre, 91 post. His offspeed stuff both went up 4 mph. That's odd.

His stuff is working so far today. Blach is the only one to figure him out.
