Cruz is the 2nd regular they've lost since the season started. The lineup still looks pretty good. Any way of convincing Blach that he is pitching against the Dodgers again?
Interesting that Belt sits. Hardly the worst of the regulars so far. In fact, he was starting to look better the past two games. Oh well. Time for Hundley.

Marco Gonzalez is still largely an unknown at the big league level (at least to Mariners fans), but last year he was coming off the TJ surgery. He's not overpowering for sure, but his fastball is around 92 usually from what I understand. He throws cutter, and it probably looks a bit faster than it is mixed in with his really good change. His curve is also effective. He's had a strong spring, so we'll see if it carries over. Gonzalez is one of the primary "Ifs" on the team this year.

So the question is, will the offense do better than the series against the Dodgers?

I shudder to think that it can't do any worse. (Technically, it can.)

Noggin said in ST that there would be some 8-7 games. Hopefully, this is one of them.

Personally, my money is on a six pitch bottom of the first for the Giants. But then, I'm an optimist.

Looking at the stats, looks like his fastball has increased since his surgery (not unusual for TJ). Was 89.5 pre, 91 post. His offspeed stuff both went up 4 mph. That's odd.
