I'm not relishing facing Bumgarner but we'll see if Los Padres stay hot. I'll be interested to see if Bud keeps the lineup the same with Denorfia leading off and Cabrerra hitting second. With Blanks coming alive, this lineup is white hot if Headley does what he's capable of.

You guys are nervous.

I like facing the Pads at home after getting stomped, but Bum does not have a favorable history against these San Diegans...

Here's to the Pads, for putting it to the Doggies this week, though...

Let's keep the Padres with 80% of their wins coming against the Dodgers.

Yeah, that couldn't have been better time for you guys. I see they're delayed in Baltimore.

Have I mentioned how much I hate interleague? Why are the Dodgers playing virtually meaningless games against the Orioles???

They can't all be classic rivalries like SD v Sea!!

I dunno. Dodgers-Orioles comes close to being as classic as Pads-M's because it is a rematch of the 1966 World Series.

Not to be Capt. Obvious but it's because there's odd numbered teams in each league.

I we can just abolish the DH then a lot of these problems in MLB could be fixed...

1) Realign based on geography
2) Remove the entire concept of inter-league
3) Have a MLB-base seeding system for the playoffs
4) have everyone play REAL baseball

Come on, Hammer. Make it happen!!!

I wish they would abolish the DH, too, but the player's union will never go for it. I read an article that argues that the DH will eventually be adopted in the NL now that we are playing interleague all year. That will be a sad day.

Then the Padres could be the AAA Affiliate for the California Division.

Oh, the player's union loves the DH. Many, many fans will be devastated if/when that day ever comes.

I doubt they'd even try, but the union might allow the DH to go away if they expand the active roster to 26 or 27

How else will some of these poor, fat non-athletes who can still hit continue to make millions? Panda's got future DH written all over him. We'll never get rid of the DH; the only likely change is that it will be forced onto the NL. Teh Horror!

Let's just make a better pension or find other cushy jobs for out-of-shape hitters. Baseball was never meant to have a designated hitter. What an abomination.

I am not a huge fan of the roster expansion, but I prefer it to the DH

Adding one extra player doesn't bastardize the sport nearly as much as the DH, so I will agree here.

I don't think I broke up any major rivalries (except, of course, San Diego / Seattle)

Edit:

Ah shit...

NYM v Phi...

Not sure MLB would want to break that one up, but the 5 existing in the East would have to be together. Maybe move Bal and DC to the SE???
