Im by no means happy with the defense from last year or even all that happy so far this year but I still take Oregon's defense with a grain of salt. 116th ranking but Oregon still faces more than the usual offensive plays than lots of schools and yes they give up yards but yards don't win games.
The reason most teams haven't jumped on the HUNH bandwagon is what it does to defenses. Well that and the vanilla offensive plays you are locked into. If you score fast your D is back out before they have a chance to rest. 3 and out? Well at that speed your D doesn't even have time to drink a gatorade. And every team that scores 50+ also puts their D out there a lot. Slow down the offense and control the clock and your D is fresh. If they were just in the middle of the pack on D they'd be dominant.
The year you guys made it to the playoff I thought your D was awful, but it came up with turnovers in the most clutch moments, so there's that factor.
I have nightmares about Tommy chucking up YOLO bombs on 1st and 10. If that happens, we are in for a wild night.
yeah I posted the numbers somewhere Oregons D was not good when it came to yards, maybe avg on points allowed but I think led the nation in takeawaysIf they were just in the middle of the pack on D they'd be dominant.

Well, not quite. Their goal is only to get to the CFP. The successful schools, you know, the ones with nattys, the goal is to actually win the CFP...Glad they finally figured it out, seems like they've been confused about it for a while now.
To be fair if we are talking CFP I cant say USC has won a CFP game. Not many teams canWell, not quite. Their goal is only to get to the CFP. The successful schools, you know, the ones with nattys, the goal is to actually win the CFP...
Well, that system is, like, what, two years old?...To be fair if we are talking CFP I cant say USC has won a CFP game. Not many teams can
I know and it is a far better system than what we had in the past imoWell, that system is, like, what, two years old?...
Someone did mention it earlier in this thread, but can mods please change the #<23 OREGON to #21 OREGON DUCKS?
No need to change anything <23 means less than 23 which 21 is a lower number .Mathematically you're on pointSomeone did mention it earlier in this thread, but can mods please change the #<23 OREGON to #21 OREGON DUCKS?

Think it was Westerkamp, but that behind the back catch after the deflection was one of my favorite catches in college football. That one and Dobson one were up there on my list.Husker wideout highlights from last year. Oregon might have "speed", but our WR corps is just as talented and is likely the class of the B1G
