Um, not so fast...

Pac12 officials suck ass. Period. They are fucking horrible. All around just completely shit. They are just as likely to fuck over Oregon as Nebraska. There is no homerism in their terrible officiating.

Yes, that was my first reaction upon hearing about it.

I never understood the actual reasoning behind using each others conference refs in home and aways other than the obvious. Is it an optics thing? Is it meant to keep the phrase "home cooking" from coming up during the broadcast?

Oregon didn't look good in their first game of last year then against MSU @ MSU they looked much better and came a few inches away on a pass from winning the game. Prukop has shown to get better and more comfortable with the offense each week. If Oregon can get big yards on first down they usually will start going up tempo with it to keep the defense off guard. He may not be fully ready to run it at the blur speed, but there were glimpses of it vs Virginia and another week of practice should help implement it a little more vs Nebraska. Also, who knows if coaches were hiding or holding anything back to not show their entire hand to Nebraska on tape.

If you guys aren't prepared for the tempo then you should be extremely disappointed in Riley and Banker. After all, no opponent is familiar with Oregons system and tempo then those guys.

They'll be ready.

It's gonna be PAC 12 officials for the game, so that's advantage Oregon. B1G refs wouldn't be Oregons bitch ball boy running as fast as they can to get the ball to the LOS for the next snap.

Here's a fun one. The two deep Rivals rankings for Oregon vs Nebraska are nearly dead even.
A 6.1 player is a 5 star
5.8 - 6.0 is a 4 star
5.5 - 5.7 is a 3 star

So taking the averages for the two deep rankings for both teams you have:
Oregon's 2 deep: 5.58
Nebraska's 2 deep: 5.58

Nebraska had 5 players who didn't receive a grade, in other words not ranked. Oregon had 6 including Prukop.
ALSO Nebraska's 2nd team is actually rated higher out of HS than their 1st team.
1st team Offense 5.57 1st team Defense 5.55
2nd team Offense 5.6 2nd team Defense 5.6

Conversely Oregon's 1st teamers were ranked higher than their 2nd team out of HS.

1st team offense 5.6 1st team Defense 5.6
2nd team offense 5.4 2nd team Defense 5.5

Ducks never worry about their defense man. I mean yeah they did get a new DC, but it's not what they are trying to do.

Last week UW got off to a slow start offensively and then they went into a hurry up mode and broke things open. Asked after the game if they will do more of it the bottom line was probably not. They don't want to push their defense out so often and so fast. That's at least part of it. That and you are very very much limited on play calling. You can't send out multiple looks play after play.

Ducks only care about scoring as fast as they can and stopping the opponent now and then at least enough to keep the lead. Not everyone can do that.

UW is trying to win with defense and Oregon is trying to win with offense while the teams routinely in the top 10 actually try to have both at the same time. I mean what a novel concept.
