2024 QB Class

This is looking to be a really deep and strong QB class. 2020 may be tough to beat with Burrows, Herbert, Tua and Hurts all being big time hits. Seems like there are about 6 QBs that are likely to be drafted in round one - and it seems like a couple others could slip in. And yes, it’s still early. Here are 6 I think could go round 1:
Williams, USC
Maye, Tar Heels
Penix, Washington
McCarthy, Michigan
Ewers, Texas
Leonard, Duke

Who are you watching closely and who do you think might be day 1 or day 2 picks?

PS, I didn’t include Sanders as I’m guessing he returns to CU for another year.

If you add McCarthy Bo Nix should be included. Older, but has really improved at Oregon.

I was really starting to like Leonard's leadership and toughness up until the end of the game last night. Hopefully its nothing serious, but he's got a good chance if healthy to put his name just below Williams and Maye.

The more I watch the college game, the more I realize how much drafting a QB is a crapshoot .. Aside from the few obvious, can't miss selections, so much of what is successful on the college level translates very poorly to the NFL .. and on top of that, where a player goes is just as important ..

What if Patrick Mahomes was drafted by the Bears ? .. What if KC had drafted Drew Lock ? .. What if the Fins botched another HC hiring and never hired McDaniel ?

In this draft, even Williams doesn;t strike me as "can't miss" ... and after him, I'm not even sure there's a first round talent there

These QB are given so much hype to get people watching and fans interested and generate public interest for future endorsements, etc ...

In the NFL, the simple slants and WR screens that are hugely successful - and wide open rainbows and clean backfields - these things just aren;t there like they are at the collegiate level ...

Everyone thinks the next guy who can throw side arm or back across the field is Patrick Mahomes

Accepting this theory accepts the reality that the Broncos would never have won a Super Bowl since the only ones we have won were with two #1 picks. No, they weren’t our #1s, but they were acknowledged at the time as can’t miss prospects much like Caleb Williams.

What the Broncos need to do is keep Elway out of the draft decision making process. While he was a great QB, he’s in over his head as an administrator.

Elway no longer with Broncos as contract ends

Broncos legend John Elway confirmed to 9News in Denver that he is no longer with the franchise after the expiration of his contract on March 15.
