Well the bed crapping continues. Jackson is electric as an athlete but has a ton of work to do to play QB at the next level.

Allen crushes Lamar as far as bowl games go. Jackson played against a better team though.

Yea wasn't a great showing for him. 4 INTs is bad but I don't think it was as bas as some will say. Only 1 was a bad decision and 1 wasn' his fault at all really.

I think he did a lot of things I saw when watching other games. Good pocket presence, climbb the pocket, doesn' look to run first thing, makes some great throws, generally reads the defense well, but he'll just miss on throws sometimes (the first 2 picks). Ironically the more I watch he and Allen the more I think that as different as they are on the surface they're actually pretty similar players in a lot of ways.

Fwiw Mississippi State has allowed 175 passing yards a game and just 11 passing touchdowns this year.

Now... onto the real bowl game! :suds:

I searched this thread and didn't find anything. Care to help me out?
i am sure i have talked to you about jackson's issues if not this thread then in others . did you forget ?

well i will clue you in on todays bowl performance by jackson 4 ints , locking onto wrs , failure to read blitz's , relying on his legs . he was 13-31 for 171 yds 2tds 4 ints . he rushed for 158 yds (which is great ) but the same issues he came into the year with he exits with .

we can add throwing into coverage to the list . this guy is a project qb at best

ALL of his issues were on display today as a passer

now for josh allen , accuracy is an issue but he is much more advanced in reading pro defenses and in his mechanics.

allen is a project at best and will take years to develop if ever

Vilma and Pollock were talking about both Darnold and Jackson after the Louisville game. I think both would be helped by another year is school. I agree.

Perhaps Jackson capitalized by getting stats against bad, unathletic defenses.

That being said, with his style, he would be a fool to stay in college.

If all these guys go back to school, it will just show you how much NO ONE wants to go to the Browns if they can avoid it.

If these guys stay in school, maybe they were just way overhyped. Maybe, they just aren’t that good.

ehb I am going to watch your guy Lamar today just in case Bruce and shark decide to trade up to get him. :thumb:

Darnold crapped the bed last night. I think he stays another year at USC. You guys correct me if I am wrong. Only Allen and Rudolph have shined so far. Rosen and Falk didn't play. Darnold could not duplicate what he did last year. Mayfield plays NYD I think.

I couldn't really evaluate Darnold, it seemed like his offensive line was manned by guys named or related to Shar Pourdanesh.

Just couldn't find the posts.

As for locking onto receivers and throwing into coverage those are both things he rarely does. I'l admit hes inaccurate at times but you know who else is...Allen.

Ya know who else locks onto receivers and throws into coverage sometimes...Allen...

Jackson isn't the QB playing cookie cutter defenses every week...

I would argue that' even more alarming for Allen to be so inaccurate then. How does he fix it? Jackson needs some footwork help but I think it's reasonable to think he can actually improve his accuracy. Not to mention he's already more accurate.

Pretty much every criticism you can have of Jackson is actually a bigger problem for Allen (except size).

There is a difference between Jackson playing against the athletically challenged and Allen. Allen won’t win with his legs and needs athleticism around him. Everybody in the NFL is athletic.

How does Jackson do against the better defenses, the ones with NFL talent on their defensive roster?
