Reiff has proven now he is not a high level Tackle on either side. He just cant handle speed. I would be OK if we ended up with him at Guard though some team will probably pay him. Warford could still revert to form next year so keeping him would not be the end of the world, but we dont need both. They are both Guards in my eyes.

Best part of this article is at the end where it says Orlovsky will definitely be a free agent. I think every Lions article should end with that line. Even a shitty article would still look great that way.

Reiff reminds me a lot of Jeff Sackus.

Decent at both run blocking and pass blocking but not really great in either aspect.

Both would play solid for long stretches but then get blown away during big moments of games or have an occasional horrible game.

Lions GM Bob Quinn said he "would like to take a shot" at some "top-end" free agents.

Quinn did not mention any names, but the easy connection to make is LB Dont'a Hightower. Quinn got his start in the Patriots' front office before moving to the Lions last year, and Detroit needs as much help as any team at linebacker. The Lions could also use an influx of talent along the defensive line, and they might need to replace the entire right side of their offensive line.

"Speaking Thursday, Lions GM Bob Quinn said he tentatively expects WLB DeAndre Levy back with the team in 2017.

Due $5.75 million in addition to per-game roster bonuses, Levy was limited to five games by injury in 2016. That's after making one 2015 appearance. Quinn's "endorsement" of Levy's return was full of qualifiers. The Lions could clear $5.825 million in cap space by designating Levy a post-June 1 cut. Perhaps a restructure will be in order."

Would be stoked if we could get Dont'a Hightower to play MLB for us.
No offense to Whitehead who played admirably but we could use Hightower's presence in the middle.

Seeing Levy cut would be amazingly satisfying.

Why pay big money to a cornerback when there are soooo many CB studs in this draft we can get on the cheap.

Mostly because of the learning curve. Logan can step in and play right now and you know what you get. Most CB draft picks can't hit the ground running.

Because Aaron Rodgers is a fucking asshole who needs to be stopped immediately.

He should be relegated to being a rotational guy. I dont want him out there other than 1st down or short yardage.

Maybe that kid Lattimore from Ohio State can. Dude is very studly.

Lions DE Brandon Copeland has signed his exclusive rights tender, per a source. Copeland is set to make $615,000

Kyri Thorton too for 2 years though. Neither is guaranteed a spot though.

Rick Wagner - T - Free Agent
Alex Marvez of The Sporting News reports the Lions have become a "strong contender" for free agent RT Rick Wagner.

The Lions have a need at right tackle with Riley Reiff likely to leave in free agency. They've also been linked to former Panthers RT Mike Remmers. Wagner is considered the top tackle available in this year's free agent class and is already drawing considerable interest around the league. The Bears and Bills have both been mentioned as potential suitors.

Would be nice. We need to do something because there are not enough good O-lineman in the draft.

I don't see him lasting that long, and Bob Quinn seems to be in win now mode, so I don't see them trading up.

Yeah I don't see a trade up either but you never know if Lattimore slides.
This seems to be a stacked defense draft with a lot of good corners.
That doesn't even include all the teams in front of us drafting who need QB's and other offensive pieces.
