Anyone read Sam's article today? Even HE is grasping at straws over this one.

This kid is playing in 4A. That's the 3rd tier of HS competition in Texas.

Rexy (Plano) 6A
Adam Taylor (Katy) 6A
Aaron Green (Madison) 6A
Quentin Castille (Laporte) 6A - Callahan's I know
Dontrayevous Robinson (Trinity) 6A

We thought Larenzo Stewart was a reach. Ended up at a JUCO in Iowa. Played 6A ball at Klein Oak.

Tommy Armstrong (Cibilo Steele) 6A
Jamal Turner (Sam Houston) 6A
Charles Jackson (Klein Collins) 6A
Dwayne Johnson (Bellaire) 6A
Trai Mosley (hendrickson) 6A
Givens Price (Alief Taylor) 6A
David Santos (Klein Collins) 6A
Joshua Kalu (Alief Taylor) 6A
Devine Ozigbo (sasche) 6A -Riley's guy
Hell Drew Brown even played 6A for southlake carroll!!

Every single Scholarship player from Texas on this team played 6A save for Kondolo who went the JUCO route.

How many impact players do you see from list above?

Rex for sure, TA possibly, Santos? Have any others really done anything?

So my take from McKewon's article, 19 RB's were drafted last year, all but 2 were rated 3* or better, let's say out of 1500 total players (all positions) ranked by any service, I'm no professor but my calculations come to about "no whey" percentage that a non rated guy makes it to the big league. So far for this years projected class there is a zero % avg so far

Man, I'm gone for week and this happens! haha... well, let me just say he was behind a senior last year so that took a lot of his carries away. He will be the primary back this year so we'll see more, I have faith that Davis knows his stuff when it comes to RBs. This kid averaged 9 ypc in Texas HS football last year (albeit not the highest level) and will only get better this season as the primary back. Had just as many yards as the starter on less carries.

We'll see, we've got some good backs waiting in the wings right now. Wish we would have shot a bit higher in the stars but perhaps we saw something in this kid.

I've seen a lot of good at RBs in my day, but this guy isn't a RB.

There is no way in hell. No way whatsoever......that he ever steps foot on the field in a Husker uniform standing in the backfield.

Guaranteed. All you have to do is watch his highlight reel. He isn't a RB. He's coordinated kid who happened to get behind a line that opened up massive holes for him to run through.

i watched like 2 minutes of his highlights. doesn't look nearly as bad as some of you make it sound. maybe it's the level of competition. but saw him basically running away from everyone speedwise. saw him dragging 2 or 3 tacklers sometimes. i saw some shake and bake, but he seemed to be more of a guy that lowered his shoulder and ran through people as opposed to trying to make that juke move.

The kid has no burst, no jukes, no natural RB instincts......

We already have an entire arsenal of backs more talented and ready than this guy.

He has GOT to be an ATH recruit. There is no way we are putting our chips on this guy as our RB of this class. He doesn't even come close to fitting Mike's style of RB.

I'm not gonna sugar coat something that shouldn't be coated.

We have some great recruits moving forward and this isn't one of them as of right now.

In order to be a diamond in the rough you first have to be a diamond.

I think HP is right on this one. Mike sees an opportunity to take a risk here. He's got backs to work with, so if this kid doesn't work then he can be converted. He's an obvious athlete.

Lawrence Phillips wasn't an athlete, he was a RB. He would have sucked at any position outside of RB......this guy could play multiple positions.

Stop guys I'm blushing.

Cethan carter had 6 catches for 98 yards and 1 TD last season so yes number 11 would be better fit for over which we are thin at in a Tim Beck offense.

Now

In MR offense a TE will be great because TE is used more as a lead blocker in the big ten save for Penn st and Jesse James.

Kyler reed was one of the most under utilized players in the history of huskers football.

TEs and FBs I love it.

I like how HP wrote the word "now" and accidentally submitted his post and then it took him over an hour and a half to submit the rest of his message.
