O what does Schenn get 3.5 - 4 mil per/yr? I would trade Read at this point. No idea what happened to this kid?

Yes, it is a $1.6 million increase, which gives us $15.3 million to work with. We're in a far better position than a lot of other teams, but we still can't really afford to give guys like Schenn, Gudas, Cousins, White or Manning max dollars if we do plan on signing a free agent in addition to all of them.

It would be amazing if we could somehow trade away MacDonald and/or Read. We have younger talent ready and waiting to replace both of them (see Provorov/Sanheim or Konecny).

I had the 73 mil number in the first chart, so the 14.3 in space is correct, i believe. Never really can tell haha, but it matches General Fanager

Is Trevor Lewis that much of a better player than White?

I think he's faster and better defensively than White. I also think White will get 1.5-2 mil as a UFA too, so I'd just rather spend my money on Lewis than on White.

If somebody gives White 2 million per they should part ways with that GM.

I used Cap Friendly. The difference is that General Fanager is counting Alex Lyon. I'm thinking he won't make the team...Lol That third goalie spot will probably go to a forward, defenseman or nobody, barring injury.

I've got it at $15.278 million in available cap space.

White probably would get $2 million from other teams if he wanted it. 11 goals from the 4th line in 73 games seems pretty strong.

White played the power play for us at times.

In all honesty to me, it looks right now like Scott Laughton is in serious danger of not even making the team and also not being protected for the expansion draft. He's currently the only forward with a two-way contract that is still technically on the roster and there's no room for him as a starter if we sign and dress Schenn, Cousins, White and a free agent (or Konecny).

Laughton looks like the odd man out one way or another here. He may just have to play big minutes with the Phantoms and be called up during the inevitable, occasional injury. I don't think he will be a regular Flyer. We're going to be better next season and unless he is way better, there's no space for him.

I think he takes White's spot. At least, I hope he does. I like White, but Vandevelde is the only guy on the roster I'd dress him over. Maybe.

Well if I am looking at this right, if Konecny, Cousins and a free agent make the team, there's no room for White or Laughton in the starting 12 anyway.

I think it's a very real possibility that our two worst forwards (and defensemen too for that matter) from this past season won't dress next season, which is probably a good thing.

This improves the 3rd/4th lines and bottom defensive pairing.

Everything is laid out nicely here for Hexy to work his magic with this roster moving forward.

Ah good point. Didn't even think about that. I'll be very curious to see how Konecny plays in camp. It seems to me like he's not going to learn much from Juniors this year if he goes back. But, Hextall is Hextall. Maybe they send him back and hope his confidence comes back sky high and he adds a little muscle.

Also, somehow missed this article i think...
