The Lakers will win the Western Conference. I know this because the Spurs just won a championship:

1999 - Spurs win the championship.

2000 - Lakers win 1st of 3 straight championships.

2003 - Spurs win the championship.

2004 - Lakers make the finals and lose to the Pistons

2005 - Spurs win the championship.

2006 - The exception that proves the rule.

2007 - Spurs win the championship.

2008 - The Lakers make the 1st of 3 straight trips to the finals, losing to the Celtics, but winning the next 2.

2014 - Spurs win the championship.

2015 - Lakers make the finals. It's pre-ordained. Something about the Spurs winning the championship pisses the Lakers off and results in a trip to the finals the following season.

Lakers? Uhhh. Memphis over the Lakers and I think you got the West right. East can't even be accurately predicted until we figure out what happens to the Big Three.

SAN-OKC-LAC-GSW-HOU-PHX-POR-MEM with Dallas as the first team out of the playoffs in the West.

East will be Miami-Indy and the rest don't matter at the moment.

He didn't 3-peat. Might have happened if he did.

Damn, looking at Trojan's initial post. The Lakers and Spurs had an 80's Celtics and Lakers thing going on during the first several years of this century.

That would be something if the Lakers somehow pulled off going to the Finals this year.

Phoenix doesn't even have a sniff at the playoffs because they are a below average team that, as per usual, screw up big time after the All-Star break.

Also, the Suns trade Dragic to the Lakers for a 2035 second round pick and a bag of Cheetos.

By bad, that first part wasn't a prediction, that was the last 4 years...

KOBE BRYANT comes back.
Despite anyone hating him, he is still a first team all NBA talent who will be extremely rested.

You put a healthy Kobe on any team, and they will at least be a fringe playoff contender.
I put them as the #8 seed. I did not make them a top 3 seed.

I just cannot see a franchise that never misses the playoffs....missing 2 in a row.
Heck, they are so important to the NBA that the league might not allow them to miss the playoffs.

The league is better with the Lakers. The league makes more money.
The league desperately wants 16 LAKERS as the 16 playoff teams.

So, the last spot came down to Dallas, Phoenix, and Memphis.
I thought Phoenix had the most room to grow.

Your Bullets understand my mistake.

Les Boulez are still referenced 20 years later in the DMV.
