I'm hearing @Jaguars leaning toward taking Johnthan Banks w/ 1st pick in 2nd round, not a QB. #NFLDraft

I was hoping he would have been one of our late round picks (6th round). Totally ruined it:

Tharold Simon - DB - Tigers

Draft eligible LSU CB Tharold Simon was arrested late Thursday night for allegedly intimidating a police officer.

Wow. Simon is expected to be a mid to late round pick during the 2013 NFL Draft. He was charged with public intimidation, resisting an officer, and unnecessary noise violation. He was released on bond. Friday was supposed to be "Tharold Simon Day" in the prospect's home of Eunice.

Zach Ertz - TE - Player

NFL.com's Gil Brandt is "hearing" the 49ers "really like" Stanford TE Zach Ertz at No. 34.

The fit is obvious after the 49ers lost Delanie Walker in free agency and coach Jim Harbaugh recruited Ertz to Stanford. CSN Bay Area reported in February it would "not be shocking" if the Niners took Ertz at No. 31. Rotoworld's Evan Silva has Ertz going to the 49ers in his second-round mock draft.

Someone should start a rumor that the Jag are planning to take Geno Smith and the Eagles are planning to take Nassib or Barkley so that one of the other teams interested in either QB, trades with the Niners.. hehehe

Tyrann Mathieu - DB - Player

CSN Bay Area considers LSU CB/PR Tyrann Mathieu a "definite possibility" for the 49ers on day two, but probably not at No. 34.

The 49ers' other day-two picks are at No. 61 and 74. The 49ers have a glut of cornerbacks, but could view Mathieu as an option in the slot. Coach Jim Harbaugh also places a high value on return specialists, and Mathieu is one of the very best in this year's draft class.

I had to work yesterday and missed our pick for the first round, but did the tradition of commercials for our pick continue or did the trade throw off their diabolical conspiracy?

Jets have made calls today to multiple teams to try to move up from 39th spot in second round to draft QB. Debated Geno Smith at No. 13.

I hope they have called us and we maybe make a move down with them and pick up an extra 3rd rounder or something along with swapping the picks.

Or work on a package to get their 1st rounder next year. I think that dumpster fire of a team will yield a good return in next year's draft unless they can start using their defensive talent on offense too.

Bill Polian had only 10 players with first round grades this year.

If they're that interested, then they definitely don't want the Eagles (who are the next pick after the 49ers) to have a chance getting him. I would trade our 34th and see if we can get Quinton Coples and a 3rd rounder from them.

Don't think they would give up a pick & a player unless we aren't swapping 2nds

If they think Geno's a franchise QB they will

Edit: I guess passing on Geno with two picks already have just about dismissed that assumption

NFL Draft Insider News & Notes: April 26th

- The New Orleans Saints have shown a lot of interest in Cornelius Washington and will look to the Georgia product at some point today. He’d fit a need at linebacker in their defensive scheme and people I’ve spoken with told me Washington will offer immediate returns as a 3-4 OLB compared to a 4-3 DE, where he will need more development.

Argh!
