That is a really interesting idea. It would be a way to take it global, it would also lessen the weight of the NBA extensively.
I love the idea of a shorter 60 game season. I also like the idea of competing with MLB instead of the NFL. The NFL is going to fade away though as soon as people realize brain damage is inevitable, not preventable.
The Euro league Basketball is a very cool idea. They already have leagues in Europe, with no salary caps. But NBA players and the toppest talent play in the NBA and can not play in Euro leagues (mainly sue to overlapping seasons).
I think most players would opt to not play in Europe in their offseason. But the bidding wars for the top talent each year would be awesome, new teams to watch...Kobe would have loved this I think and his global market would have been even more astronomical with his multi language growing up in Europe self.
