You are delusional. How on earth is that off the plate? Show me a single box that says that pitch is not a strike. Find one.

It was definitely filthy, but below the knees

Again, the ump was all over the place for both teams, Jose Ramirez stared him down on a called strike above his shoulders
It is what it is. We have been bitching about the strike zone since Doubleday stole someone's idea for baseball. As for Ramirez? That is one mean messican....he stares down his own mother that way

See Plate

See Where pitch lands in Glove

Let me know if that is "OFF THE PLATE" or "ON THE PLATE, AKA, a STRIKE"
Do you know what a curveball does?

Do you see the plate? is that ball landing on or accross it?

Or off of it?
Landing? You think that where the catcher makes the catch determines whether or not the ball crosses the plate?

Definitely, and it didnt affect the outcome one iota....I jut shiver at the idea that the best of the best are supposed to be umping these games

It wont matter vs the Yankees, but vs the Stros, or in the WS, this thing could be something thats a problem

I'm not critiquing the umps performance as a whole, but I'm looking at a frozen frame of the pitch and it looks like it crosses the plate knee high. I do think it looks lower than what soxfan's box shows, but it looks in.

Doubleday stole nothing. He was as surprised as anybody to hear that he had invented baseball.

NO, but since the yellow trajectory arrow you show doesnt ever cross the plate, NOT EVEN CLOSE, Im just asking at what point is it a strike if it never crosses or lands over the plate?

Perhaps. If the Indians reach game 7 of the WS and get screwed by balls and strikes call then I will definitely bitch about it

You must be trolling now. It clearly shows it crossing the plate.

At best, you are bitching about a ridiculously close call on a nasty pitch.

Question for the group... I kind of overheard that tonight's game was on the MLB Network? I don't have that with my cable package. Will be it pirated by another network? I know in the past when Cleveland teams have been in the playoffs (obviously not the Browns) a local station will play the feed of the cable network handling the broadcast

Where's pitch #2?
For some reason not shown on there. They are in the other graphs for horizontal and vertical movement. All 3 were called balls.
