There's no question in my mind that the Yankees are about to experience a major talent drop in terms of the pitching they're about to face. The Indians were arguably the best pitching staff in the majors. The Astros pitching was somewhat above average.

I wouldn't expect the Astro's bats to lay down the way the Tribe's did, though. Then again, I think a lot of the Indians' problem was the preparation of the Yankees' pitching staff.

No doubt, the lineup for the Stros is the thing that has me worried, they are deep and even the Gurriels' and Marwin Gonzalez' can kill you

That's not the point though. Eventually you need to get over the hump and win a series.

But to answer your question I would say the 88 win Cardinals team who beat them in 2012 was inferior. Nats split the first 2 games in St. Louis and had 3 straight at home. Somehow they did not come away with the series win

they didn't have Stras for that series.

ANd they had like a 3 run lead going to the 9th in game 5.

Idk what to say. That's not on any manager.

up 3 in the 9th with your closer....that's on the players.

True, but rewind a series, and the Tribes # vs Tanaka and the Yankees #'s vs KLuber, were even uglier before the series

So you're guaranteeing Tanaka will shut out the Stroh's tonight

Oh yeah I agree. I wasn't blaming the manager at all. This is a players deal IMO

well @bksballer89 says he sucks on the road Who do u believe?:suds:

He had 2 solid road starts since July so hopefully we can get one of those starts instead of the shit numbers he put up in his 4 road starts. I would gladly take 7+ IP and 3 ER that he gave us in Detroit and Boston a few months ago

Put all your Vcash on it

Yeaaahh...I don't like it. Houston is -170, Yanks only +140. Hate both of those.

I usually don't go big on the first game of a series, anyway

Yeah, much like the ALCS, I'm having a hell of a time deciding on my rooting interest.

Anthony Rizzo bothers me; can't really root for him. On the other hand, it's against my nature to root for a Goliath.

In the AL, Dallas Keuchel annoys the shit out of me and I dislike Verlander, but again, how can I root for the fucking Yankees? I will say, though, that since the Yankees beat the Indians, I hope they dismantle the Astros so that everyone sees how good they really are. I'm not sure there's much distinction in overall talent between the Astros, Indians or Yankees this year.

I have no hatred for the Astros. Built the right way IMO.

I don't care much for the Dodgers, but I can't stand the Cubs wank fest.

Yeah, remember how abysmal they were a few years ago...good to see them competitive now

Regardless of the crapshootidity in playoff baseball, I just can't reasonably expect teams to beat better teams in playoff series. I'm apparently in the minority here, though.

Fair. I still stand behind my point.

Got you but you do realize they had a better record by several games than every team they faced in the playoffs since 2012 right? Just want to make sure we are on the same page.
