What's clear to me is that conferences need to get rid of divisions! The two best teams in the conference should play each other for the CCG.

A team should play one or perhaps two annually protected in-conference foes and then rotate the other conference games... thus, a team could play everybody in their conference every two years.

Under such a system, the B1G championship game Saturday night should have been a rematch of Ohio State & Penn State.




That being said, I will move on to what the committee should not do Sunday.
The committee should not reward a playoff spot to a team with this OOC schedule:
-Idaho
-Portland State (FCS)
-Rutgers

Sorry Washington, but that OOC schedule does not cut the mustard. Rewarding Washington with a playoff spot would give other schools the green light to set similar schedules in the future. FUCK THAT!

Let's look at it another way too...... think about this...... Oklahoma is basically being punished for scheduling Ohio State this season, but Washington is on the verge of being rewarded for scheduling Idaho, Portland State (FCS), and Rutgers. FUCK THAT!

Rewarding Washington with a playoff spot would set a precedent saying it's OK to have a shitty OOC schedule.

Again....... FUCK THAT!

This is exactly what the Big 12 will do next year. We don't have no stinking divisions.

Best part about the SEC being down, is they still only play 8 conference games. Usually 1p5 game and 3 garbage high school teams. Grow a sack and play home and away games. Wisconsin pulled out of the home and away game against UW, and we got stuck with a shit Rutgers team.

Fuck overrated Ohio State. Penn State is your conference champion. They have the head to head win. The selection committee would have to ignore their own stated protocol to put OSU in the playoffs over Clemson, Washington or PSU. I don't think its logical to base the best teams on OOC SOS. Not every team can schedule the same OOC teams. Thats where conference play comes in. Penn State did win the head to head game.And the division as well as the conference. The level of difficulty in winning a conference is a lot higher than an OOC or ranked game. And rankings are subjective to human polls. If looking at actual resumes based on the results of the season. 11-2 to 11-1,9-1 to 8-1 in conference,A victory over OSU and the Conference Championship.Realistically I do think Penn State is the better team. Anyone can debate resume Ive seen people claiming SC has one of the top 4 resumes. And run through every eye test scenario there is.But that doesn't make them deserving. If the committee is going with the best 4 teams its Alabama,Clemson,Washington,Penn State imo. Otherwise we are back to LSU/Alabama imo

Well, Washington can certainly schedule a better OOC slate than Rutgers (worst team in all power 5 conferences), Portland State (an FCS team), and Idaho (always a pushover).

Mark May never agrees or likes Penn State and I was shocked he put PSU in his predictions. He played at Pitt and always has been negative on PSU. I just don't see Penn State making the playoffs but it has been one hell of season they have put together. We are hoping to play 2 more games but we will be excited to play in just 1 bowl game. So proud of the Lions in what they have had to overcome.

OOC sucks, but they'd hardly be the first team to end the regular season highly ranked after playing a cupcake OOC schedule. For example, Alabama made the title game in 2012 with Kent State, North Texas, and Georgia Southern as their OOC.

You are conveniently forgetting the ranked Michigan team we destroyed to start the year and the other 4 ranked teams we played on the way to clubbing then #1 Notre Dame like a baby seal.
