That's very nice and all, but I want do better than being a fringe top 5 team.
I'm not following. You win your division and we just agreed that Smith plays well in the playoffs historically. I am not sure what you're trying to say. Feels like you just want change for the sake of change which really is an awful idea. I'm not taking Smith out til I know unequivocally I've got someone better. Do you not remember what your, team was like for the 10 years or so before Alex showed up? Lol

Playing well in the playoffs at face value is not a repeatable skill. The regular season is more indicative of his play. The last 3 postseason games have not been very good (albeit the Texans do have a great D) for Smith. If you're waiting for a QB to fall in your lap- you'll be waiting forever. It's this kind of mentality that leads to a 34 year run of not drafting a QB in the 1st.

PS- the Browns aren't my standard for anything unless this is the 1950's

What Im saying is that the name Alex Smith might not mean 95 qb rating moving forward. The guy is getting older and if teams dont have to worry about his legs and have never had to worry about his deep ball then he is going to start having issues.

His game manager status was fairly lackluster last year in the regular season, too. He had a couple of really costly INTs though I think that can get cleaned up
Sure. I've got no issue looking for someone better but you guys are talking like Smith is a chump or something. He's not. He's a very good QB. You don't throw that away without having something you know is better. We saw how that worked out in SF

At a few specific skills yes- one of them is evaporating in his running ability. His YPC was halved this past year. Again- this is about improving the QB position like say OLB, or CB, or any other position. If Mahomes busts so be it. I am not in a rush to hurry Smith out the door but I am not going to just pretend he's very good when he's just average (and declining).

So now you are worried about the regular season? Doesn't smith have more regular season wins than like everybody over the last 7 or 8 years? I feel like you guys may not actually know what you want . I've been there before lol

QBwinz aren't a thing to me. Smith consistently doesn't lose so in a talent match the Chiefs were going to win a lot of games against the rest of the league. This isn't earthshattering. Mark Sanchez (ok, much worse than Smith) even won games and was >.< close to making or even winning a SB. And with the Raiders yes I am worried about regular season wins. Going to need a lot of them to win the division.

Alex Smith will only be 33 next year so maybe he'll be in the league for another 4-5 years but I dont think he'll be starting in KC for more than 1. Its a risk but I think the Chiefs have to take it. Chiefs are more reliant on Yards After Catch than any team in the league.

Listen man all I know is you guys average like 4.5 wins a season for the 6 years before Alex showed up and like 11 wins a season since he got there. So be careful what you're wishing for

What's a few losing seasons. I want a SB... Smith is in his mid 30's. It was time to make a transition before they were left holding the bag with some Nick Foles type scrub.

It ain't that easy to find a SB caliber QB man. There may be 6 or 7 of them in the league on a consistent basis. I get what you're saying but even if you get rid of Smith there's no guarantee you find someone better. There are teams going on 10-20 years of not finding a QB who is even as good as the guy you want to get rid of lol

Whats the argument here, that the Chiefs should not have drafted Mahomes?

If there's any argument at all it should be Kizer (That was where my bandwagon was at) given he was available at 27.

No way of knowing that, and i dont think the Chiefs were just trying to grab A Quarterback, Mahomes was the guy they most definitely wanted
