You don't predict future performance based on beating up on the sisters of the poor offenses either, and their DVOA 32/22 reflects that.
They are 31st, not 32nd. And 22nd weighted. Even with that, their overall weighted team efficiency is 1st and that same site gives them the highest chance of winning the Super Bowl at 28.6% while second place is 18.5%.You don't predict future performance based on beating up on the sisters of the poor offenses either, and their DVOA 32/22 reflects that.
7 games is not a lot of info. Nor is 16 for that matter. It's a good sample with the limited info we have, I must say though. They are 5-2 in the regulars season vs this years field of playoff teams. That's nearly a half seasons worth of info.
I don't dispute the Pats have the most favorable road to a SB. I will very muchso dispute someone citing the Pats PPG as a representative statistic. They are 31st, not 32nd. And 22nd weighted. I find PPG funny. It's the most cited stat for a team when looking back, and much more criticized in the present. How often do we hear that the Pats haven't won a Super Bowl without a top 10 scoring defense? And yet, 2001 they were 13th in defensive DVOA, 2014 they were 12th, and 2016 they were 16th.I don't dispute the Pats have the most favorable road to a SB.
