Ahh, early April anomalies. Cleveland just lost a 3-game series to Detroit, despite scoring 20 runs. Given that The Tigers went 4-14 against the Indians last season, I don't expect winning series from them to be a trend.

Fucking Indians have the worst team ERA in the entire damn majors. 5.35.

Fuck that noise.

NYY AL ranks thru 4/16:

.355 OBP, 1st
.441 SLG, 2nd
60 R, 2nd
.264 BA, 3rd

117 K, T-1st
1.12 WHIP, 2nd
3.12 ERA, 3rd
.220 BAA, 3rd

That's without Didi, Sanchez out for the last week, and Bird just showing up last night.

And yet the 2nd lowest xFIP. Red Sox with the 2nd highest rotation ERA and 3rd lowest xFIP. Indians and Red Sox with an unsustainable .339 and .335 BABIP against respectively. Also each have a 20.6% and 19.0% HR/FB ratio.

In the last 10 years the highest BABIP for a full season was .327 by the 2012 Rockies, and highest HR/FB ratio was 16.5% by the 2016 Yankees. So we will see some regression here.

Nice post.

While I certainly don't expect the Indians' pitching staff to maintain a 5+ ERA (it dropped 34 points just last night), it's nice to see some supporting numbers. It'll be nice to see the universe regain some semblance of order so that hillbilly homos like @Chewbaccer will quit stroking themselves raw over the Braves.

Yes the two highest strikeout rotations in baseball are not going to maintain ERAs over 5.00.

Shit...

Boch had another heart surgery this morning. It is described as "minor", but it is still heart surgery.

You gotta figure this has to be his last season at this point...

Braves currently sit at 6-6

Indians are at 6-7.

I'm offering you a chance to get your month long avy bet out of the way now, but if want to prolong the inevitable, then I won't stop you,

CB Bucknor: still incompetent.

His strike zone was atrocious tonight (Braves have just as much reason to be angry, btw), and the end of the game situation was ridiculous. D'arnaud clearly swings and misses, team is shaking hands and walking off the field, and a minute later, this dumbass calls a foul ball. He is, and has always been, so bad. They have to do something about him.

Ray Knight: "This is the worst game I've seen behind the plate since the last game he worked." Truer words have never been spoken.

What is the explanation on that one? He even talked with Wieters as he was calling the out.

Everyone was basically off the field, except for the ground crew, of course, when he decides his initial call was wrong (when it wasn't)???

Completely asinine.

Padres are easily the worst team in baseball, bad offense and horrible pitching. And the pitching from the minors that is supposed to help turn them contend probably won't be here until 2019 at the earliest. Most likely gonna lose 100 plus games this season and possibly again in 2018. I'm ready for the season to be over, sick of this crap.
