A simple thank you is all you need to say. Not your fault you didn't know the difference between discipline and disciplined -- the English language is tough. I will try to simplify my posts going forward for you. :suds:

There is no need to read your first post again. I've laughed enough from it. I will just sit back and laugh at you trying to talk your way out of that stupidity now, instead of just saying you made a mistake.

Funny how you can't even answer the questions given to you.

Explain to me what you think a "well disciplined" team is, and how it gets to be that. You know, since you claim to be the expert on the English language.

I don't even know what the fuck this is supposed to mean considering discipline is what you do in response to the wrong things players do, not a preventive measure.

Actually, true discipline is both. The initial tone of discipline is set in the establishment of rules or a code of conduct with established consequences for violating the rules. It is followed through on or enforced by applying the prescribed punishment when those rules are broken.

The idea of discipline is to not have to ever reach the consequences aspect of it even though we know that's an extremely tall order.

I'd say you have to handle these on an individual basis. I've seen men's lives ruined by false accusations. Good men. Just saying, taking a witch hunt mentality to appear proactive isn't the correct course of action.

^^^THIS^^^

I understand the desire to act so that it looks like you have a zero tolerance policy and won't stand for this kind of thing.

However, what happened with the Duke lacrosse team should show that we should wait until all of the evidence is in before taking action against a player who hasn't been convicted of anything.

I finally watched the 30 for 30 documentary on that and I was so furious and disgusted I was damn near seeing red. That DA should've lost more than his license and spent more than a day in jail. He should've been imprisoned for fucking years.

I agree, and the only course of action a coach has it to discipline those involved.

When I opened up the article linked in the OP, the very first sentence says "4th one suspended". They are obviously being disciplined.

It's the notion that a few screw ups mean the team isn't "well disciplined" that I have issue with.

Michigan state is on one hell of a death spiral. At this rate, they won't have any players to actually take the field in September.

That kind of thinking will cause Michigan to lose to MSU. Never under estimate your enemy. D'antonio is a good coach and a few rotten players are not going to change that. Harbaugh is smart enough to understand this, Michigan will be ready to play Michigan State. Michigan State will not fade away.

I'm just having fun watching you try to talk your way out of your ridiculous first post. my favorite part is you can't edit it. Don't be upset that you had no idea of the difference between discipline and disciplined. It is a tough word, I will refrain from using tough words around you from now on. :suds:

And if you HONESTLY need me to explain disciplined to you, I find it hard to believe you were in the military.

Stop opening the door when they come over is my best advice for you.

Do you really think nobody realizes why you won't answer the questions?

Mike Valenti (for those who don't know: a huge sparty who does talk radio in SE Michigan) went on a huge rant yesterday about how Dantonio has lost this team and said it goes beyond just these incidents. He says that he's surrounded himself with friends and relationships that he's too afraid to burn to get things done right. Coaches who aren't doing what they need to do to keep players in line and has let the locker room become toxic. There was some kid kicked off for racist text messages last year. And apparently that's spread around the locker room. He was questioning if Dantonio could ever restore it or if they need to start fresh.

He acted as though he had talked to people inside the program. Interesting take to say the least. Dantonio is also pretty old at 61, so does he retire before all this truly unfolds?

Really enjoyed the show yesterday. Its nice when Valenti is forced to face the music.

These type of things happen at all big college programs. As a fan you hope they don't pile up and if they do you look at the coach and ask what type of program and is he disciplining the athletes?

I think D'Antonio does what he can and I never thought he was soft or turned a blind eye on issues.

MSU is a dumpster fire right now but I don't think it's a D'Antonio not tough enough issue. It's a perfect storm of a bad season, players acting badly, a coach not being an adult, keeping the same coaching staff, and Athletic Department title 9 issues.

I think D'Antonio will act quickly and decisively when he can and not before. I doubt any of the suspended players will be with MSU next season.

Forgot to mention the star LB the team kicked off for using racial slurs and the fact another player banging said star LB girlfriend.....

that is a toxic locker room.

Let's see:

Would you call the military well disciplined?

The fact you said you were in the military and don't know the difference between discipline and disciplined is frightening.

OF COURSE the military is well disciplined. And before you say -- well, military personnel get in trouble. When you have 1.5 million active troops, you are going to have bad apples. It is wildly different than a team with 110 players and having roughly 20% of them having off the field issues at the same time.

What you fail to realize is -- I've grown up my whole life in Michigan. While I'm not a fan of Michigan State, I am a fan of Dantonio and they have written 100's of articles about him. If you'd like, I could start posting articles talking about Dantonio and how one of the biggest things he instills in his teams is discipline.

If I neee to spell it out for you -- I find it extremely hard to believe you were in the military.

The fact you said you were in the military and don't know the difference between discipline and disciplined is frightening.

This is extremely funny considering my private life.

OF COURSE the military is well disciplined. And before you say -- well, military personnel get in trouble. When you have 1.5 million active troops, you are going to have bad apples. It is wildly different than a team with 110 players and having roughly 20% of them having off the field issues at the same time.

My company had 75 people in it unless I'm missing someone. "off the field" issues were constant, and more frequent than I see on football teams. And sometimes, they were more serious in nature.

That you compare the entire military to 1 school is your ignorant shit, not mine. When I think about the military, I think about the people I was in contact with.

So you claim Dantonio no longer punishes for these things, and yet the article you already quoted in the OP starts out in the 4th sentence claiming this is the 4th student to be suspended. Where are all these Michigan St players not being disciplined for their actions?

If I neee to spell it out for you -- I find it extremely hard to believe you were in the military.
