I agree I think Redskins should offer Kirk and their first for 9ers first and second. That seems fair to me. Back to McCarron it is possible especially if the Redskins do trade Kirk because your team is in a position where they have some talent to win and that would drive up the price. Also they might keep him and if a guy like Taylor or Palmer gets injured then they will have a hot item for a trade then.

If we deal Kirk, Im calling 17 a wash year. Sure Colt could start, but ringing in a new QB that has to learn the system is pretty much a wipe out year because we are so pass heavy. I think it worked for DAK, Wilson and to an extent RG3 because the coaches were willing to lean on the run to bring their respective QBs along slowly.

Gruden wants to sling it around the yard, and i dont think he knows any other way.

I will say this... .sure we CAN replace Kirk. And if we move on we likely WILL replace Kirk. But the idea that we can easily replace him, or that McCarron is some how a given as an upgrade is more of a what some hope, more so than a given. Add in the concept that if he is seen as beter than Cousins, to think we would get him for anything less than a 1st is a pipe dream.

Franchise QB's are more often than not found by luck, really shitty performances the year before allowing a team to draft them without giving up an arm and a leg. Or by teams giving up an arm and a leg.

If McCarron is simply just as good as Cousins, 3-5 teams would be beating down the Bengals doors right now.

So yes its nice to speculate based off his limited performances that he could be as good or better.

But reality is, if we are in the need of replacing Kirk, the train is already off the tracks and we are just hoping the 5000 gallons of diesel we are hauling dont spark off and take the rest of the load with it.

Do you honestly see Cousins as irreplaceable as you claim?....Really?....Well, the good news is that train wreaks are almost always completely avoidable. Very good to great teams reload, never rebuild. Besides that we have these guys in charge......

As I have said, Cousins IS replaceable... any player is. What i dont see is a replacement that is available that wont run a big risk of setting the team back for this year for sure, and the next 2-5 years possibly as well. Say we get McCarron for a 2nd, and he really turns out to be Foles or Oswieler.... you really think we wouldnt then make a move on DArnold in the next draft??

So is he irreplaceable?? NOt at all, is he the best option for the team over the next 3-5 years so that we arent back in a must find a QB mode... absofuckinglutely. Allen needs to swallow his pride, pay what it takes and worse case we can actually concentrate on fixing what ails this team.

AJ looked good with Hue as his OC so there is a relationship between the two, The Bengals are going to lose him to FA next year and if they can get a high second why not. Browns should do it because they need the best players avail you get a good QB and can pick two defensive stars within the top 10 it seems like a win win really.

In the event that Kirk is no longer here, I can't think of a better way to go than this!

Fascinating!!!.....Do you not see it because you're locked into Kirk?.....What if he turns out to be as good or better than Kirk or is that not even possible for you to imagine?

I honestly believe that moves to position to get Darnold are precisely the same as the Wiz fans thinking that they could somehow get Durant. Same result too!!

I completely agree that right now he is the best option, I don't trust Bruce and Co. to do what's right here and to me that means that they have had nearly 3 off seasons in which to sign him, sorry to have to say this but my confidence that they will get this done before July 15th is non-existent.

My thing is, we already know how well Cousins CAN perform in this offense. Now sure, We could take the chance that McCarron or some one else MIGHT be better. But to me thats like saying I got $50.. .I could go buy Lunch, or I could by $50 in lotto tickets. Sure those tickets MIGHT turn into $500 or even $5M, but as I know I can buy lunch... why risk it and possibly end up broke and hungry??

And we are ignoring the fact that Kirk himself like most QBs over time do actually improve. And we both know, if Kirk goes to the Niners and takes them from a two win team to even .500 Dan is going to DUMP resources at the next "sure thing" QB in the draft, further hampering the team as a whole in all likelihood.

Oh I fully expect them to fuck this up. The issue is, as many have stated, there is an easy fix to all this.

We wouldn't be taking a chance at that point, we will by necessity have to move on from the departed Cousins.

I think that you're missing the point that the ONLY way that we seek another QB, or promote Colt is if/when Cousins is no longer here. We can always upgrade our back-up spot if he stays, but that wouldn't include a guy like McCarron, more likely a rookie and not Sudfield .

Sorry bro. BUt if we get to that point we will be taking a chance because we decided to move on from Cousins. I know of about 50 million ways to fix this right this moment.

Getting to that point is what this thread is all about. Hell, we all know the millions of ways to fix this, but cut your 50 million in half and you'd be just about where Bruce Allen is at this moment.

If we get there, muck like the pregnant side chick.. there is no unfucking that situation. We would just have to move forward and hope for the best. Something tells me that unless the Niners make a sick offer, Bruce is just dumb enough to make Kirk play on the tag, and just stubborn enough to franchise tag him again next year rather than admit he screwed up.

[QUOTE="Darrell Green Fan, post: 9809132, member: 8691 In other words going this direction would be a mistake IMO.

Again, no problem with your assessment of McCarron, but assuming no Kirk, what would be the correct direction in your opinion.[/QUOTE]

I am not catholic but I bought rosary beads just in case. How do you spell Jacksonville???
