I do not rewatch the episodes anymore, so I miss more than I used to, but I thought at some point he said "next week, get it right", or something to that effect.

I don't remember why, but I got the sense it was a weekly delivery. But that may be based on nothing more than a convo I had. No idea...

i got it DVR'd and just pulled it up

he says "next week, same time" .....so :noidea:

you go from truck fulls of produce/ammo in an SUV to 12 cantaloupes on a large flatbed truck

I'd imagine the tributes are setup based on harvest schedules. It's not like they have an assembly line of the same amount of the same shit harvested every week forever. It was not 12 because of the infestation as that was just the kings own garden and not the crop garden and they were told what to bring well before they came. It's not like they sent a smoke signal up to talk to them.

Happy to see Morgan snap and go back to nuts mode. Carol is back, well kind of? Maybe? :noidea: She's been so up and down as a character that we need to see a lot more than this to declare her back.

Dude telling his soldier to walk back after finding out the kid was dead really made no sense. Saviors want to send messages and all of the others would have said next time don't fuck up if you don't want people to die. That was a sign of weakness really.

Things do need to move along at some point.

I haven't watched last night's episode, but on Saturday I watched a couple episodes to catch up. My take is that this show is a complete pile of shit now. All those emotional scenes in the last episodes, with the slow music and melodrama had me pissed.

Do you think the folks running the show realize it sucks balls now? Do you think they're going to try to wrap up the series quickly in an effort to salvage its legacy, or just ride the cash cow straight into the ground?

The two above; honestly, there is no doubt in my mind.

But like a few others have stated, I'll still watch. It's become a zombie train wreck. Which, in itself, is kinda interesting to me. ;)

If they don't kill off Sasha, it will be a huge swerve. I wonder who is going to get the bag over head zombie arc. Sasha or Rosita?

I do believe I predicted choice number 1 awhile back. If i'm right, choice number 2 will be the...recipient. ;)

Interesting theory. But I don't agree.

i think it could be Morgan or Eric. Both of whom are dead at this point in the comics.

No. I agree on that part. I was commenting on the other part. Sorry. I wasn't clear.

O my bad didn't even know there was another part lol.

An interview I saw by Lennie James does sketch me out with Morgan's fate tho. He kinda laid into the show

They are probably easier on the Kingdom because they didn't murder an entire outpost of Saviors in their sleep.

Yup. The Saviors are just a bunch of misunderstood teddy bears.

Clearly they aren't all as ruthless as Negan. The leader of the group in charge of the Kingdom's tributes was saddened by the death of the boy and was visibly frightened by Morgan.

Guess I'm the only one but I thought episode drug on at times and despite a few good moments was mostly forgetable.

In the opening of the episode it appeared the Kingdom was finally going to give the Saviors the middle finger but it turned out 3 boxes of melons on a flatbed was an acceptable tribute. Still don't get that.

I think we all knew Carol was going to come back around but the Morgan thing didn't make much sense to me. Not sure what that is supposed to set up or what I was supposed to take away from that.

Outside of my already stated problems with Morgan's face turn, I thought it made sense. Richards story mirrored his own, and it brought him back to his "clear" days, but he was zen enough to be able to deal with it now.

Certainly, some lieutenants are more "human" than others. The one in charge of the Kingdom is definitely more laid back than the one in charge of the Hilltop. But all the lieutenants still report to Negan, and there in no way Negan would be cool with a rather large settlement getting away with a couple bags of light groceries each week.

And if that were the tribute, why make a big deal about it? They carry extra water on their scavenge missions just in case they run into someone who needs it. A few melons would fall into that same category, I think.

I liked the episode enough, but there is always some stupid shit to discuss. A couple off the top of my head...

1) Carol in the tree killing walkers with the street sign. So dumb, and made even dumber when the the kid idolized it and asked her to teach him. Lol. Btw, Carol is ostensibly responsible for his death. No one has really mentioned that.

2) The lone melon being strapped in like it was fucking plutonium or some shit. I realize this was all for dramatic effect, for the gay opening scene en sech, and maybe even as a subtle dig to the Saviors, but damn, just seemed dumb. The ratchet tie downs are more valuable. Hell the fucking crate itself is more valuable. Toss that fucker to one of the tard saviors and let him hold it up front ffs.

Honorable mention: Aunt Jemima pissing herself over the tiger.
