The simple fact is....much like with politics and the media....the sports media will go after the controversial.

Because Controversy Creates Cash.

Harbaugh is controversial. So the media runs with anything they can Harbaugh related. Because people see the name Harbaugh in the headline, they click and read.

You can do it here. Put Harbaugh in the title of a thread, people click and see what it is about.

And my only reason to start this thread was just to laugh at him calling Paul "Pete".

But the name Harbaugh was in the title and fans and haters alike came to see what this was about.

Don't think for one second the media doesn't do that purposefully.

Get cable before passing off what the 'rest of the country' will pay for a channel no one cares about.

The midwest gets a game of the week from the SEC on CBS. Unless you have a friend who swims, wrestles or does gymnastics in the SEC -- the network is pointless.

The SECN is 'national' like the B1G network is. If you want to pay for it. You can get it.

Just google the fucking price dumbass. I'm pretty sure cable channels don't scroll the price per channel at the bottom of the screen.

And during the football season, I do have those channels. I actually pay $5 for the SECN.

And I also get the Big10 and Pac12 networks.

They do the same thing with Saban, only we don't act like he's somehow making people's careers like Michigan fans.

I've never seen such a group of moral victory grabbing motherfuckers in my life.

That's also because Saban wins. Alot!

But any kind of controversy is great from a media standpoint. Going back again to the Cowherd-Dabo situation.

Cowherd says Clemson is a fraud. Most people don't care or even know.

Dabo however knows and cares and fires back. Now, we have a controversy!

And, I can guarantee you...many many people who normally would not have listened to Cowherd tuned in at least that one time to see what he had to say about Dabo calling him a fraud.

Because....Controversy Creates Cash!

The next time Cowherd is right about something it'll be the first time I think.

I avoid all those shows. The "experts" might as well just be people on a forum.

I don't need to google the price. They can say whatever they'd like for the price, but the cable companies determine the packages involved and what they are going to charge.

And as I said already -- unless you are from the south and have interest in random sports in the SEC. You aren't ordering it. All the big games are televised on national TV and CBS plays SEC games each week.

Yeah, maybe someday these cable companies will get around to that.

It's called bundles.

It's called bundles.

The B1G network is part of the basic cable package in the midwest. Everyone gets it. ESPN, ESPN 2, Fox Sports Detroit are all part of the basic cable package.

If you want ESPN U, ESPN 3, ESPN whatever, it costs extra and they usually bundle it with a handful of other channels to make it more expensive. So as I said -- unless you are a die hard SEC fan of a random sport you aren't buying the SECN channel

So I guess I must be a diehard Pac12 and Big10 fan since I got those channels even though I live in Arizona.

I have to ask. So you are saying you don't have cable, but you order all the conference networks? Are you saying you sign up for cable, they come and install it, keep it for a couple months and then cancel it?

You wouldn't have to ask if you weren't a bandwagon fan.

I stream TV, so there is nothing to install.

I've always had cable. I've never streamed to watch anything other than a UFC PPV I didn't want to pay 60 bux for and I watched it on my computer.

Didn't realize having cable makes me a bandwagon fan?

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? You are getting up there with the poster who calls you a bandwagon fan because you've never went to an Alabama game.

I watched Bama almost every week this year and not a single time was Finnebaum on the broadcast.

You are either high or you are right, you don't know who he is, or more likely, you're just stupid, because I don't listen to his show or regularly watch the SEC Network, but I do watch EVERY Alabama game, and Finebaum was somewhere in the broadcast on every one of them that was on ESPN.

I'm starting to think you aren't a college football fan at all, just a jimmy jam fan.

How do you figure only diehard SEC fans have the SECnetwork? What a stupid statement. I'm not an SEC fan (I'm a CFB fan) but I have that network. I also have the BigTen (obviously) & the 12 Pack Network. So much for your goofy theory that only SEC diehards have that station.

Bama would be on CBS almost every week in the Midwest. CBS get the game of the week, so any Bama game worth watching was on CBS.

I do think it is humorous SEC fan are dumbfounded someone doesn't know a SOUTHEASTERN RADIO PERSONALITY. If you look back -- the closest state that airs his radio program is 725 miles from Michigan. He was hired by ESPN for one reason, the SEC Network, which is only available if you want to pay for it. And seeing as how the SEC made the horrendous deal with CBS, where they get to pick the game of the week, the SEC network is pointless to buy as you can watch Bama almost weekly for free.

Well Wamu -- this doesn't surprise me. I will give you a tip. You can watch the only games that matter for free on CBS every week. They get to hand pick the top game every week.
