I'll give you Auburn. Arkansas ain't the South.
"During the American Civil War, the Confederate States of America consisted of the governments of 11 Southern states that seceded from the Union in 1860-61, carrying on all the affairs of a separate government and conducting a major war until defeated in the spring of 1865. Convinced that their way of life, based on slavery, was irretrievably threatened by the election of President Abraham Lincoln (November 1860), the seven states of the Deep South (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas) seceded from the Union during the following months. When the war began with the firing on Fort Sumter (April 12, 1861), they were joined by four states of the upper South (Arkansas, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia)."

So USC played Oklahoma in the south in 2004. Thats five games in the south since 2003. Boy you were so close to being pretty wrong but turns out you were epic wrong. Five games and 20 years wrong.

RollTide-"2003 UCLA at the Rose Bowl...which is about 2 decades after the last time USC played a game in the South, 1986 in the Citrus Bowl."

I think 2000 & 2001 they had a home and a home
Alabama came out west and played UCLA at the Rose Bowl on Sep 02, 2000.

"Last time Alabama played a true OOC regular season football game west of the Missippippi was at Hawaii, 11/29/2003".

They're in the SEC and they're further south than Tennessee.

LOL, We are all aware of which States were part of the Confederacy. That being said, Arkansas is about as Southern as Missouri. Shit, these days I'm not too sure about Virginia either.

Alabama has played three (3- Tres ,Trois) OOC games at the other teams home field in eleven years.

We don't have one scheduled for the next three years either. After getting clubbed like a baby seal in Arlington, USC is probably going to have to wait a few years before anybody invites them back to a neutral site game.

Even if USC gets beat, they will be willing to come down and play Alabama in the future. I wish I could say the same thing about Bama coming out to the West coast. Hell they could play in a neutral site like Levi stadium.

I have been advocating on here for years that the West Coast needs to bring back it's own Kickoff game...USC seemed to have no problem attending them in the past. Clearly nobody with money on the West Coast seems to think this is a priority. Maybe with 2 NFL teams in LA/OC and one in Vegas y'all could get this back on track.

LOL. Yeah , finished 3# and is favored to be in top five nest season with a Heisman type QB. yeah no one would want USC . No interest nationally. LOL. First you don't know when USC has played in the south and now this.

Love the big kick off games with two national teams but hate that they are neutral and one and done. Even with the ass kicking I wish USC was going to Bama next year. These teams make enough money . They dont need to deprive the hometown fans of these games.

You'll excuse me if the minutiae of your overrated program escapes me, let us know when USC turned down their invite.

USC goes and travels to OOC games, neutral if thats the only option. USC has traveled plenty all over the country no matter which coach was in charge. Yeah Alabama has had some good teams lately but they have been pussys about traveling to OOC games. They would rather fill up on Chattanoogas at home. Winning makes you look like even bigger pussys for not traveling. If Alabama would have wanted USC would have done a home and home no questions.

Meh...I like the neutral site games, they are like preseason bowl games. I just wish there was more of them, there are only so many times I want to go to Atlanta or Dallas. Y'all need to get to work on a West Coast one.

You have three other opportunities to schedule OOC teams since you're in the SEC. No excuse for not traveling to at least one a year. But nice try.

Just curious, but I wonder if the West Coast brought back their own Kickoff game, would teams like Bama be willing to come out and play in that game?

Good point. The West Coast needs a Kickoff game scheduled for Levi Stadium every year.

Alabama never went to the Pigskin Classic, but I don't know that we were ever invited. I think the current administration would view it favorably. The original did draw Tennessee, FSU, Texas A&M, Ohio State and Michigan went it was in Anaheim, when it became a road show the teams reflected the location.

Yeah I remember the Pigskin Classic.

The Pigskin Classic was a season-opening college football game played at Anaheim Stadium from 1990 until 1994, and continued from 1995-2002 at various stadiums. It was initially created as a west-coast counterpart of the Kickoff Classic and hosted by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. From 1990-1994 it was sponsored by Disneyland and referred to as the Disneyland Pigskin Classic. Until 2002 the NCAA only allowed for teams to play a 12-game regular season schedule if the first game were a licensed Classic (such as the Pigskin Classic, the Kickoff Classic, or the Eddie Robinson Classic). In 2002 the NCAA ended the allowance of an extra 12th game, thus effectively ending the Classics. Kickoff games would later see a revival, in 2008 the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game was organized as a neutral-site game held in Atlanta, GA.
