The NFL says the Giants never filed a formal complaint with the league office over allegations that the Steelers deflated footballs during a 24-14 Steelers win in Week 13 in Pittsburgh.

But Fox's Jay Glazer reported earlier Sunday that the Giants did report the Steelers to the NFL for allegedly deflating footballs.

Essentially, the Giants got a hold of two footballs being used in the games and checked them out on the sideline, where they came in under the normal PSI weight expected and required for NFL play.

"Last week the New York Giants got suspicious of the Pittsburgh Steelers during their game so after two takeaways from the Steelers, the Giants actually tested two of the footballs on the sidelines to see if in fact they were, dare I used the d-word, deflated," Glazer said. "Two of the balls came in under [the PSI weight], so they sent them in to the National Football League. Still waiting on a response from the NFL."

Rothlesberger should be suspended for 8 games. The Steelers should lose their next 2 first round picks. And the Steelers should be fined $2,000,000.......right???

Where's the hypocrisy? From my understanding Glazer published a false story be it negligence on his part or bad source. Now, if there was a complaint and an investigation (or lack of one) we could go down that road, but I'm not seeing it?

The whole this is absurd. I don't care about Ben's balls any more than I did Tom's. Roger needs to keep his hands off people's balls and mind his own business. The game would be better for it.

Just saw a PFT article. Looks like the Giants noticed the balls were "squishy" but haven't filled a report. Most likely the weather but the ideal gas law has nothing on Ted Wells when it comes to science.

I hope this blows up just enough that Goodell gets some egg on his ugly ass face.

As a Pats fan I contest this is not an issue for the NFL take action on. Why?
1. It did not involve the Patriots
2. Everyone knows that cold weather causes ball to deflate (except winter games involving the Pats)

Honestly I could care less about the balls. Why are teams being allowed to gauge balls on the sidelines? Doesn't that violate the rules? This is the 2nd time and yet nothing has come from it?
