Because we have basically stated that conference championships are meaningless and the entire season is completely irrelevant. If you have a big name, you will be given the benefit of the doubt and fuck everything else. I get why Ohio State fans are all for this, it means if they are ever close, the committee will drop their pants and let Ohio state have their way. Let's all schedule FCS, a MAC and a Sunbelt team because losses are all that matter.

People can think subjectively, that was sort of the point of ditching computers. There's always gonna be seemingly contradictory conclusions when comparing multiple seasons because there's so many variables. Some years, certain factors are gonna win out over others but I think it's pretty straightforward, they were attempting to get the 4 best teams period. It's hard for me to bitch about that.

I think you made the exact opposite counter argument. People are arguing that Clemson, Washington, PSU, and Bama accomplished their goals and it should not just be about numerical numbers
