Why in the hell is Durant talking smack to the OKC bench?

If he wins one i fully expect him to leave golden state soon thereafter.

And go where? He's now in the Bay Area with Silicon Valley and a thriving spot for post career opportunities. If he wins 1, chances are he'll have opportunities for more given the salary situation for the Warriors.

I think it was a variety of things that caused them to lose those 3 games. GS woke up and OKC stopped doing what they were doing the first 4 games. OKC may have went ISO because GS forced them to by playing much better D. Nothing you can do about great defense in your face. Teams force shots at times - look at GS in the last 4 minutes of game 7 in the Finals. Momentum is a mothefucker

To expect a 1st year coach to even get that far on the defending champs is a bit much IMO.

Steve Kerr and Ty Lue disagree. :D

But I agree with you that OKC reverted back to their old ways. And that's why I think KD also chose to leave. Zebra can't change it's stripes.

Well most people know that when a team is playing good defense the last thing you want to do is play iso. That makes the them easier to defend. Them playing iso ball had the same effect as throwing water on a grease fire.

And why do you think a player in his prime should waste more than the 10 years he's already given for the franchise to get a decent coach? He gave him a year...a full year. Obviously he didn't like what he saw & moved on. His right to do so.

Yeah that is crazy. I keep forgetting Kerr's first year was 2 years ago. Seems longer. Cleveland seems to both have puppets for coaches. Lue started as an assistant last year right?

Yeah Ty Lue was the Associate Head coach, basically first assistant with a fancier title. He took over midway when Blatt was fired.

Lue made fantastic adjustments for the Cavs last year. Their offense peaked after Blatt was removed and their defense tightened too. Lue was anything but a puppet for them last year.

And to me that's like Karl Malone can't get it done in Utah, so he joins the Bulls. Just is gay. OKC runs through the Mavs, Spurs, and goes up 3-1 on the defending champs.. And KD saw something he didn't like? :L Like he wasn't one of the main guys with the ball in his hand with 3 chances to close out GS?

It's early, but OKC is sitting at 6-1 and on top in the West. So they're not crying about it.

Call OKC's offense last year in that series a mystery. No idea why things changed. But it's obvious GS stepped up their D and won 3 in a row. Maybe OKC couldn't elevate their game to that level and went back to what they are used to?

So you think Lue is calling the shots in Cleveland?

Depends what you mean by calling shots? I think he's entirely responsible for the offense and defense that they run, but of course Lebron has final say in actual game play. I don't think Lebron actually overrides Lue though, as he did to Blatt, but again can't be sure.

I would say that Lue is responsible for the way the Cavs are playing as a whole.

Here's what I think.. I think all Lebron needed was Blatt to get out of the way. Insert Lue. Lebron is obviously the floor general bringing what he learned in Miami under Pat Riley to Cleveland and making it work - running the offense through him and Kyrie. As far as the rotation of players, once the playoffs come it's 2nd nature to these guys that have playing together all year. I can't give alot of credit to Lue. He deserves a bit IMO but i can't give him alot.

So do you think you could have replaced Phil Jackson for any other coach and the Bulls would have been just as successful at the time? Even with the greatest player to ever live?

Phil Jackson and Tyron Lue? Really? MJ was scoring 50 - 60 points at times when Doug Collins was there. There was no team. Phil came and made it one just like he did in LA.

You think Lue turned it all around for Cleveland?

Lue is a disciple of PhilJack but I didn't see a whole lot of X's and O's. Maybe i missed something... I see Lebron doing alot of barking on that team.. Subs? Sure we can give that one to Lue. :thumb:

I'm not comparing the two. Just was curious how much credit you gave Jackson, considering he had the best player of all time on his team.

Lue, has the best player in the game right now in Lebron. Doesn't mean that he can't be responsible for the teams success as well.

I think if you ask any Cavs fan who watches them on a regular basis would attest that Lue made significant changes with the team, both offensively and defensively.

Ok, clearly you're not understanding. Yes, they were able to get far last season because they were playing like a team and SHARING THE BALL. But lets be honest- the refs helped them out A LOT in that series against the Spurs.

But back to my point. When they faced adversity (GS) they went right back to the iso ball- and no one was able to control that offense. THAT is what KD didn't like. THAT is what was exactly the same offense they used in the past and weren't successful.

And for a team that wasn't crying about KD leaving they sure had a lot to say when he was busting shots on them. We've watched LBJ leave Miami to go back to Cle & Wade/Bosh didn't act like that. So IMO they're acting childish.

This is just hilarious to me bc a lot ragged on Lebron for leaving Cleveland and leaving the only franchise he played for just like KD. The difference is Lebron didn't have ONE ALPHA around him, he had a bunch of average players around him. KD has another alpha, a better coach than Lebron EVER had in Cleveland....yet KD can leave and Lebron was wrong to leave.

To point out, I'm not saying everyone ragged on Lebron but I know A LOT did. KD deserves the same treatment and MORE. Even so, KD went to a rival, Lebron didn't....and Lebron didn't have anything (players, coach, management) in Cleveland, KD was one game away from the Finals up 3-1 against the defending champs with an alpha, good teammates, and a good, young coach. A different situation IMO

Lame.

Then being the leader of the team, the guy who wanted to be the alpha....speak up quit going Iso. Man the fuck up. He is in the system, he was part of the problem but being the leader of the team...it starts with you.

You can give me all the excuses in the world and it still ain't changing my opinion. KD lost after up 3-1 - whatever the case - he jumped shit and went to the team that beat him.

It's weak. I can dig you are a GS fan and like the home team. But that's being pretty impatient for a team with a new head coach that had a good playoff run.

It's shit that pussies do

I can dig this. I ragged Lebron for leaving. I am calling Durant a pussy

I'm loyal what can I say. :noidea: And stacking teams IMO is weak

Not sure how KD is an alpha if he's now on GS though. That's what no one has explained so far.

Well his numbers suggest he is an alpha but what is the definition of an alpha in general?...

"A natural leader, he is a pack-builder. He leads, provides for and protects his pack (his significant other, his buddies, his teammates, and so on)."

Maybe he isn't one....

I understand your point- we just disagree.

And I'm trying to figure out what being an alpha male has to do with wanting to join a winning team. Maybe KD doesn't want to be the alpha male- but would rather win instead. We all have choices.
