Some say Romo is expendable, what about Dez?

There is talk and everyone has an opinion on Dak and Romo, but we have also been winning and being really balanced since Dez has been out.

I know he is one of the top WR in the league, but I see us moving towards a "whomever is open gets the ball system" and a true #1 diva doesn't go with that system. Brady hasn't had one, had the talent but not a #1 diva who is screaming for the ball.

So what if this offseason we were to make it known at the Winter meetings that he is available? If we have a stable of WR's that are possession type and can stretch the field when needed, then why deal with a guy who will cry and honestly can't run a clean route? I know he is big and powerful, but he isn't a leader and I'd rather have the picks that I think he would bring. How often is a top 5 WR made available?

What could we do with this young offense and a lot of picks to build a young defense?

No way. when the shit gets tight you need a guy to go to in the red zone. Dez unlike TO won't complain if he doesn't get "his" while we are winning. If we start losing though...yeah, look out

The only way I would trade Dez would be for two first rounders....other than that, it ain't happening

I figured that would be a given. He should command at least 2 1sts, probably more like "i'll take your next draft, all of it, and the following 1st."

Damn I haven't thought about that!!

Part of me says the Cowboys should hold onto him until he becomes a financial risk but with them winning like this I'd be open to a trade that brought back some high draft picks.

I wonder what he could get the Boys in return.

May be worth it if they could get a top 5 WR for him...hey, wait a minute...I guess we could just keep him instead:thumb:

Yeah I keep thinking about it and just not sure if I want that. He's still young and has his best years ahead of him.

Scary.

But if you could get 2 1st rounders from a team like the Browns?? hahaha

Exactly what I was going to say.

I'm glad Dak & company have made things look so easy. But there is a game coming, one that will put our playoff hopes in jeopardy if we don't win it.

4th qtr, 17 yard line, 3rd down. Zek has been getting stuffed, too much traffic to fit it in to 5' 8 Beasley.

...and there is Dez in the endzone. Not only is he coming down with the ball, he is taking the defenders arm with it.

Honestly, I'd rather have a 6-10 WR that doesn't come with the constant fear that he is going to make the news in the wrong way.

You forgot the ending. The refs call it a non-catch because they are in green bay.

Me too. But I'm going to say the odds are you aren't finding one without a lot of luck with one random top 10 draft pick. Only 10 top 10 WRs in the league

I think he is right about that spot. I think his TDs make up for his lack of speed and total catches

I agree with that. I think he is a top 5 endzone threat. I think he is more of a 6-10 WR

No problem with that. I don't really like those labels or going thru the trouble of ranking guys. How big is the difference between top 5 and 6-10? When most say top 5 they mean #5. So one or two spots? I watch peoples lists change as the wind blows. I've always had Matt Ryan a top 10 QB. Many talked about how bad he was. Now I bet a lot of them have him top 5. It's part of the beauty of sports I guess

I still don't think the wide receiver position is the end all for having a good team but Dez is most important to the offense and what they are all about. Teams have to commit to stopping the run which puts Dez in many one on one situations. Football remains in large part about the numbers.
