So absolutely untrue. Many experts like Mayock had him as the #1 rated player coming out. Thats just complete nonsense. An average D2 QB, yeah... sure
You are correct. I should have said above average. Either way he is a D2 qb. He played weak competition. In the past 20 years, how many d2 qb's were drafted in the first round? The only one I can think of is Flacco that is worth a shit. There may be more, but trading away so much on a giant "if" is questionable.

He was beyond above average too. I know your schtick is to rip everything Philly does. Im not sure why... but thats your MO. There are 100+ teams, so your saying there were about 25 QB's that played better then him in his division. Ummmm... NO! Every single scout in the country had him going in the early first round. He has a cannon arm, 6'4 245 pounds. He can make every throw and is very mobile. Does that mean he is going to be a star? No. But he was ranked on EVERY scouts top 10 and Mayock (Who I like the best) had him as the number one player coming out this year. Phil Simms, Ken Obrien, Doug Williams, Tony Romo, Steve McNair, Joe Flacco to name some lower level guys who played well. To say he was average or above average in his division is asinine.

My schtick. Lol.

I realize he was highly rated. But let's not act like there was a large pool of talented qb's coming out this year. I get you're feeling pretty good today because the Vikings bailed you out to an extent, so props to the Eagles front office today.

I like Wentz, wanted him in Dallas but not with the 4th pick in the draft. As for being highly rated JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf says Hi.

And a million more. Wentz might be a colossal bust but he could be very good. No one knows. It was a weak QB draft but on paper he has everything you want in a QB... but so did Russell, Leaf and many others. Time will tell whether Philly took the right gamble or not. It was great getting back the 1st but are recent 1st rounders have been awful (Marcus Smith, Nelson Agholor, Danny Watkins).

Time will tell what kind of first you get back though. If the Eagles finish as a bottom-5 team in the league we could be talking 2 entire drafts worth of value in difference from a top-5 pick to say if the Vikings make it to the playoffs and win a couple of games and are picking bottom-5 in the 1st round. That is huge value especially considering the upcoming draft is considering one of the better QB drafts. Now I can't say much as my team took a 1st round QB this past year but as it stands all we gave up was a late 3rd round pick to move up and get him over a few other teams. So if he busts I would say the cost hasn't been quite the same.

Kind of unfair to Wentz to be thrown to the wolves with little notice. Eagles claimed they didn't want to do that with him. He also missed most of training camp. He had been told he was third string up until the trade. With a reworked OL, RB's beyond their prime, WR's very suspect, he's got a lot of obstacles in his way.

Yep, this is a bit weird. Most would think Daniels who was #2 would be named the starter, with Wentz as #2. In a few weeks if Wentz I'd healthy and playing as well as Daniels anounce he had won the job. Naming Wentz now puts pressure on the mid and pissed off Daniels.

The Eagles needed to make this move to get a franchise QB in place. Now what they gave up might be a stretch but if Weintz pans out and he's able to get them back on board as SB contenders then everyone will forget about what they gave up. The point is with Bradford the Eagles would be spinning their wheels every year he would have been their starter, 8-8 7-9 9-7 type years. Side note, Howie should send a thank you card and a case of beer to the Vikings GM.

I think the Vikings did well on the trade. Yes they gave up a first round pick but they got Bradford for two years at 24 mil. 12m a year is a deal for a decent QB these days. Plus the Vikings are now back at a potential playoff team. Bradford is better than Hill.

Sure the Eagles got a 1st rounder but that 1st rounder will probably be a pick in the 20's. The Eagles should not be relevant in the next two seasons. If Wentz fails then that sets the Eagles back at least another 2 years. He doesn't have any offensive superstars to work with fielding one of the worst WR core in the NFL. What will really make me laugh is if the Browns have picks #1 and #2 overall in the 2017 draft.

Yes as a Skins fan I know how it feels to give up a lot of picks for a QB(RG3). But at least RG3 won rookie of the year and they still got a franchise QB in the 4th round of that draft in Cousins. I don't see Wentz winning ROY this year. Of course anything can happened with injuries but it looks like the Skins and Giants for at least for the next two seasons.

We're giving a top ten pick to the Browns too.

Wentz
or
Bradford, pick #8 and your a 3rd round pick

I'll take the picks. The bar is set very high for Wentz. Even coming in and being average makes this a bad trade. And if Wentz is good it doesn't mean wins. A lot of potential talent is sacrificed for 1 player.
