Warning shots fired to Bryan Price; pitching coach fired.

Maybe the new one can figure out how to use Raisel Iglesias?

Damn, I spend more time analyzing the Reds than I do my own Metsies! :pound:

I don't know if Raisel has the durability for 32 statts though, if I'm being totally honest. Seems to be a waste of a closer though. Reds are good at that.

There's the rub. And he's said he wants to be a closer. I wonder if the new guy will consider giving ol' Tony another shot at starting?

Nah. Tony doesn't have enough pitches. The two of them at the back end is an upgrade, not that that is saying much.

That's right, I forgot about that. Evidently all those pitches he was working on earlier never panned out.

From the 'Don't Believe the Hype' Dept: Can anyone tell me why this would be a "Monster Trade"?

Rangers and Rays reportedly discussing monster trade

Rangers would be stupid to do that. Profar and Gallo should be able to swing a better arm than Odorizzi.

Not sure what's up with Gallo... not playing vs LHP and is sub .250 right now. I think Brinson is as good as gone... and yeah, Brinson for Odorizzi is not anything "monster".

Stupidest fucking statement I have ever heard Terry Collins utter (and I've heard quite a few):

"Our doctors are sooo good!"

Holy Crap.

June 8th, 2017: MLB's version of the Saint Valentine's Day massacre.

I would imagine there are a lot of teams thankful for the All Star break at this point.

Not that people don't start their Rockies, but........

They have an amazing second half schedule.

In Atlanta to start off.
At the Mets (but their arms are all questions now, less DeGrom)
At the Nats (tough)
At the Padres (pitching stinks and park isn't as pitchong friendly anymore)
At the Dodgers (last week of September...championship week?)
At the Giants (last weekend in September and October finish, some leagues are done)

Every other game is at home or in a hitter's park.

Nolan Arenado will be MVP.

Trade talks slowly heating up...

Report: Rangers interested in Drew Pomeranz
6219.jpg
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Rangers are interested in Padres left-hander Drew Pomeranz.

Rosenthal writes that the Rangers have done background work on Pomeranz and have checked on most of the available pitching in advance of the August 1 non-waiver trade deadline. The 27-year-old has emerged as a significant trade chip for San Diego after posting a 2.47 ERA and 115/41 K/BB ratio over 102 innings during the first half. He's under team control through 2018, so the Padres will require a major haul to part with him. The Rangers need rotation help and have the prospects to get a deal done.

Not sure about this. Hanley is Hanley and while I like Clippard, I'm not big on trading for closers...and Arizona's a tough park. Belt's a solid 1B with OF eligibility. I'd imagine it depends on how they fit on your team. :noidea:
