According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Marlins are pursuing starters like Rich Hill of the A's, Jake Odorizzi of the Rays, and Drew Pomeranz of the Padres.
That's pretty much the top of the heap of this year's trade market for starting pitchers, and the Marlins don't have the assets (money or prospects) of some of the other contending clubs. But it's all worth exploring this time of year. Hill, 36, has registered a 2.25 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 90/28 K/BB ratio in 76 innings (13 starts) this season for Oakland. He's a fit for any club needing rotation stability.
