Looks like this is going to get bigger.

Word is they've found recruiting violations - in specifically with KD Cannon, a HUGE recruit for them. If this is true they have to at least CONSIDER the death penalty. r*pe AND recruiting violations? WOW.
I've always thought recruiting violations would be the downfall of Briles.

One type of sanction I wish the NCAA would start imposing in situations like Baylor is no home games being allowed for a couple of years. Yea, that's right. Play every game on the road and the fans don't get to attend games in their own stadium. Talk about driving home a point. A revenue split of some type would be given to the offender by the opponents who got extra games in their own stadiums as a result of the sanctions but it would (a) not be the same as the revenue an offender would have received from playing in their own stadium and (b) it would sting like a SOB to the point the offender's fans would be screaming for peoples' heads. Imagine seeing an empty stadium on game day and how that would make an impression on every school to keep things clean.

1. Baylor is not canceling football or any sport
2. Baylor is not leaving the Big 12 voluntarily
3. Baylor needs the revenue because of all the litigation Baylor is going to undergo, not to mention, the construction programs that Ken Starr started and Ken Starr threatened to sue the Big 12 back in 2010.

I hope all the women that were assaulted ask for $100,000,000 each from the University and from the WACO Police Department.

I am not a lawyer, but it seems to be that the Waco Police Department is an accessory to all of the crimes.

Why would any Dad send their daughter to Baylor?

Word is coming out that apparently Baylor was also paying players, so this could get ugly.

Now for all you CFB fans, there is also word that many of the 2016 recruiting class has asked out of their LOIs. This might get real interesting

No, because then Texas wouldn't get to be bowl eligible.

In all seriousness, I hate when innocent people get punished for what other people had done. 1 guy fucks up, and then it's the team of innocent people after who pay the consequences.

I'm a big fan of things like show causes and such which actually go towards punishing the guilty. I'm all in favor of finding new ways to punish the guilty.

Wheres stevie when we have questions regarding christian schools :gaah: Baaylor should have BYU take their spot in the Big X imo

good point! Substitute one group of hypocrites with another.

(sorry to any I may have offended here: please note, this is just a generalization, and is not an indictment on the BYU faithful. However, it IS INDEED AN INDICTMENT ON THE BAYLOR FAITHFUL who are a bunch of rude, crude hypocritical sleazebags, as evidenced by years of personal experience with said fanbase)

Here is another question:

Is it possible that the SMU Death penalty plus canceling a football season led to the fall of the SWC?

I think if Baylor cancelled their season it would hurt a lot of other programs that they are scheduled to play and will put the final nail in the proverbial coffin of the B12

I am not blaming them. I would not go there. I am just pointing out that there maybe a flood of recruits on the market that have just a few weeks to pick a school. If the rumors turn out to be correct, the state of TEXAS is about to become college footballs version of the wild West

Absolutely. They would only have 11 games instead of 12 and would make it even more difficult to get a spot in the CFP.

Cut their scholarships in half for 3 years.
No Post Season Play for 3 years.
Limit recruiting by 80%.
Limit Assistant Coaches.
Allow current players to transfer immediately without penalty.

That's almost as good as the Death Penalty.

UNC is in another category. They have academic fraud and paying of players. Penn State is the closest situation we have to what happened at Baylor but I doubt the NCAA gets too heavy handed and Baylor agrees to self impose penalties with probation attached that starts the 5 year clock on major infractions.
The one reason the NCAA could step in is because (if) Baylor was "providing athletes extra benefits" by protecting them from criminal prosecution or other due process in ways they were not protecting the general student body. But since it appears that they showed no interest in pursuing allegations against JQ BaylorBear any more than those against athletes, that doesn't really seem to be the case.

Wasn't SMU already on probation when they got caught paying players? That's the real reason the death penalty will never be handed out again. No one else is dumb enough to get caught twice quickly.
