I think what he's saying is that they switched up the defense to be more like Seattle's defense. Since it wasn't his defense he didn't want to run it, but he had no choice in the matter. So he's saying the scheme failed but it's not his fault because he didn't want to run that scheme.

As to how true that is, I have no idea. But that's what I got out of it anyway.

Seriously though, the guy needs to take a look at himself. In the last 5 seasons, including his seasons with the Cowboys, his D's have been worse than the average defense in both points and yards per game in all but one season. The last two seasons, he has been in at or almost in the bottom of the league at both of those stats. He's not the defensive genius he thinks he is for sure.

Is Ryan a nutless weenie if he isn't bullshitting about the scheme change? Yes.

Does it change the last two years of horrible defenses? No.

Exactly. I'm not even going to click on the article because I could have told you what he'd say before someone even put a microphone in front of his face. The arrogance and inability to see any fault in themselves is draining to keep reading over and over. When things go well they have no problem taking responsibility for everything though...

Rex's bravado is nauseating. Not sure how he keeps a job? A lot of players do seem to love him.
To his credit, and I despise him he does take blame after losses. However, I find his post game self pity parties disingenuous.

Haven't they been in cap hell recently? I'm no fan of either the Saints or Ryan but it seems like it would have been tough for anyone to make sugar out of that shit considering what they had to work with.
