I think you would have been laughed out of Sportshoopla if you had said Dalton's name as the guy leading the league in Passer Rating at this point in the season.

Also amazing how 2 weeks can quickly change the storyline of a player. Brady has went form 1st to 5th in QB Rating and from what I have been reading today many have bumped him from that top spot for MVP to now Cam being at the top and Palmer and Brady tied for 2nd.

If we are talking the true definition of "MVP", Cam was always at the top.

Not sure I agree. While Cam has played great this year I think there is an argument out there that the real key to them being undefeated is because of the defense playing great this year. They had a terrible game this past week where Cam definitely stepped up and willed his team to victory which is why I would say he has made it to the top spot over Brady.

Carolina is 3rd in points scored per game and 9th in points allowed per game. Has the defense contributed to that? Of course it has (mostly through forced turnovers). That offense is all Cam though. Most everything good that happens offensively is either due to Cam or due to the threat of Cam.

I understand that. To me though the whole narrative of the Panthers and Cam has really changed over the last few weeks. While the offense was good I wouldn't say they were great. Cam has gone crazy these last few games while Brady started out so great but has really come back to earth over these last few games. That is why I am saying there has been the switch in who is leading for MVP right now.

MVP threads started 5-6 weeks ago and my choice has always been Cam. His stats are better now, but I was never basing it off of stats alone (like many people). Let's put it this way...he is no more valuable to the Panthers now than he was 6 weeks ago.

Believe me I have had Cam in the top-3 pretty much all season. The biggest thing for him is he has upped his game and hasn't had that just down right terrible game that you look at and go "Wow can this guy really be the MVP?" He has been the most consistent week in and week out of producing for his team. I had Brady rated ahead of him because he had made a couple less costly mistakes and because the offense he was a part of 3 weeks ago was the most dominant in football in large part because of him. The wheels have fallen off on that side of the ball though and Brady has had that just down right terrible game that dropped him. Again I don't think it was wrong to have had Cam as the top guy. There are so many things you can look at even before these past few weeks to think that. I mean I think they have the best red zone offense in football. You can look at while Brady hasn't had all his weapons these last couple of weeks Cam hasn't had anybody beyond Olson the entire season.

And just a couple of weeks ago there was a thread on here about how poorly RW was playing and asking if he was overrated (maybe it was just a troll thread, I don't remember). I don't see too much bashing of him lately.

I guess that is how it works in the NFL. you are never as good or as bad as it seems...well, unless you are the Cleveland Browns...

All players go through good runs of form and bad runs.

Brady is going through a bad spell but he will bounce back. Wilson and Cam are going through very hot streaks but they will come back to Earth, to some degree, sooner or later.

Amazing how just a couple of good or bad games can change the entire outlook of a player to us as fans and especially to the media.

Not when you understand that these guys are only human and it takes a whole team doing their job well to win at this level....If a few players start slacking, it trickles down to the next guy and affects his play....
No one player can win by himself, no matter how talented he is....

Brady keeping that offense afloat without his RB, WR and TE is pretty MVPish. Palmer and Cam are definitely in the running though. It'll come down to the wire.

Cam is doing it with his top receiver maybe being at best the 5th option on many teams. He pretty much has Olson and that is about it on offense. So the whole "Well Brady has no one" is hogwash to me. Throw in he had Gronk for every game except this last one.

26 of 42 for 334 yds & 2 TD's even though they basically had to throw the game plan in the garbage when Edelman went out with the foot injury.

I'll take it.
Two losses in a row?

That's bullshit. Newton has accuracy issues and it has nothing to do with his receivers.

We'll see if he can keep making plays with his feet when the competition gets tougher come playoff time.

There is so much more that goes into this than if Cam is accurate or not. There is no one at the skill positions that causes a defense to have to really watch. Olson is a good player but he doesn't exactly keep the Safeties back having to respect him and opening up the run game. Throw in Cam's arm is not what makes him an MVP candidate. He is an all around threat but when he does pass he doesn't have great weapons to throw to. Just actually go watch a Panthers game and just see how many passes his top receiver drops in a single game. Remember it has been that way for him all year not just the last few weeks like for Brady.
