Ya, cause u can't pass like they did last week. It just points to average, at best, talent on all sides of the ball
I dunno, I think it might just point to time management and play calling for the 2nd week in a row >>>coaching

man, were the refs bad or was it just me? they missed some easy calls and then made lots of crappy calls against us. the PI on their 1st TD drive was horse crap. yet they wouldn't take the hanky out on multiple plays where our guys were getting mauled. heck MR even got a flag trying to point that out to them. they gave him one make up call and then proceeded to miss some more. there were also more than a few holds by their O-line.

i'm being optimistic, i'm looking at it as we are a mediocre pass defense away from being a good team. seriously, MR needs to go find a new guy back there. maybe this guy is available:

that final drive, i was literally screaming for Banker to blitz, sacking Stave and making him throw the ball quick was our best hope of winning that game. letting those WRs have time to get open is just too easy right now. which again, i just don't understand, it would seem dropping 7 into coverage, you'd be able to keep guys on top of the WRs at all times.

Our offensive play calling is still just bad. DL just abandons the run way too much and way too many damn 1st down passes. i'm screaming at him to run the damn ball. where's the read option on 1st down to get 3 or 4 yards or maybe even pop a big one? it also again seemed pretty obvious early TA was struggling throwing the ball again, yet let's keep having him chuck it all over. and seriously, a team that is based on playaction passes, where in the hell is the naked bootleg? i remember several times it looked like that play was there. also, the play calling on the final drive was bad, you've at least gotta run something that might get you close to a first down, not just Imani and Jano up the guy. again, read option or the naked bootleg, let your leader TA try and pick that up with his legs (without a passing option). or heck since they had timeouts anyway, i honestly wouldn't have minded the risk of a pass, what's it really going to hurt? i'm serious, naked bootleg, you give TA like 2 options that are far enough for the first and tell him only if they are wide open otherwise run your ass off for that 1st.

anyway, i'm optimistic, we can get 4 or 5 more wins if this team and coaches can just figure out how to get out of their own way.

Play calling was issue last week and clock mg't. Today I think it was just lack of effort or execution. I don't know what the hell to think though. After first FG hit post thought Huskers would finally get the break they needed to get W. But think they relaxed a bit and didn't finish job.

I knew we were gonna go 3-and-out there.....wasn't even a question.

I was just hoping for a monster punt and then get pressure on Stave.

Neither happened and we lost because of it.

Naw. Nebraska lost because they....

Dropped Int's
Dropped passes
Had poorly thrown passes
Lost the turnover battle 1-0
Had 9 penalties for 89 yds.

You lose when you don't make the plays necessary during crunch time.

You're always going to make errors during the game that you can point back at......every single game. But when it gets down to crunch time and you know exactly what you need to do to win it, you better do it. We didn't, and we lost because of it.

We were in position to win, just like our other 3 losses, despite all the mistakes we made earlier in the game. We just didn't finish it out.......4 times.

The reality of it is, we were in position to be 6-0 right now by just making a simple play during crunch time.

We just fucked it up every single time.

I'll excuse the Miami game and just say we lost that one plain and simple. That comeback had a lot to do with Miami laying over. We still fucked it up in overtime, but we didn't have that game sitting in our lap.

BYU, Illinois, and Wisconsin were all games we had. All we had to do was make a play when it mattered.

Make a play and we're 5-1 right now no problem.

Tell yourself whatever it takes to make you feel better.

They played poorly again.

RA, it's college football. This isn't the NFL. If we could avoid those mistakes you speak of we would roll every team we play '95 style.

At this level you expect miscues. They're going to happen. If you're in position to win in the final minutes of the game, you win if you're well-coached and prepared.

We've been in position every single time. There is ZERO excuse for being 2-4 right now. We shouldn't be 2-4. We deserve it, but we shouldn't be 2-4.

Eichorst needs a reality check as well as a thorough job performance review. I seriously don't blame him for replacing Bo, but he pulled a complete Peedy Lube (Pederson) mistake with this hire and he thinks this is his crowning achievement. Seriously, Eichorst is tickled to death at the hire of slightly above average coach and his faithful hiring of sub par coaches/friends. Those sub par coaches gave us ~ Poor pass defense technique, no set #1RB, no offensive identity, horrible offensive play calling/playbook, no defensive pressure packages that are timely or covert, failure to recognize weaknesses of their system/players and adjust, etc..

Eichorst will get his review after 2 seasons of Riley. Guaranteed.

You gotta limit penalties and create turnovers. Nebraska hasn't been a crisp team for years.

JJM I realize you are all rainbows and lollipops over this team but the reality is they will be lucky to win more than 2 more games this year. If and I mean if Riley can get a new QB to run his west coast offense next year with great ease, poise and ability - next year could be as bad. Given what I have seen thus far, recruiting from these guys are going to be an adventure. It might take 3 years or more for this Riley to get thing going, but I doubt the fans will put up with the worst defense in any category along with an often inept offense that can't carry the load until the DBs get better.

If you want to win comfortably, yes. You're absolutely right. We aren't Bama. I'll take a win right now any way we can get it.

We don't need to dominate for me to be happy. Just make enough plays to win.

How am I being rainbows over this? I'm flat out saying we fucked up all 4 games.

We had them in our hands, and fucked them up. Like a shitty team would do.

I thought this was a Braska "HOME GAME"? Thread title is mis-leading.

GO HUSKERZ!

Did the title say "Nebraska @ Wisconsin?"

VS. always means the first team is the home team. I was pretty drunk when I made the thread though so I seriously don't know if I put an @ in there.

Just so you know this isn't the last couple of years Wisky.

The plays you want the Huskers to make at 'crunch time', they're not making enough through the game.
