This season is just too hard to predict. It really depends on who ends up playing qb, and how good they play.
The reality is that every season is hard to predict. If it were super easy, it wouldn't be any fun watching the games actually being played.

Defense is good enough to win 10 games. Shawn Watson is bad enough to lose 7 games :L

As long as we beat the fucking Land Thieves, I can handle the mediocrity. If we're going to suck at least beat OU!

I will reserve judgement until I see a quarterback take a few snaps.

I'll go as high as 9, but as low as 3.

pretty smart and probably right on the mark.

The quarterback issue is going to be drastically improved this year, because Jerrod Heard is going to take over, and in the process push Watson out of the picture. His BS West Coast offense bullshit will be no more.

Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State are all winnable games

I would not be surprised in the slightest bit if Texas wins all 3 games.

I am expecting them to win at least 2 of the 3.

West Virginia and Cal scare me more than those 3 teams. That is where Texas will do something stupid.

I'll be going to the home opener against ND this year. First time going to a game in South Bend. I can't wait. I think ND will win, but I think it will be a good game. ND has struggled under Kelly with the first game of the season, and Texas will be the best team Kelly has faced in a home opener.

Huh never been to one? Hit me up when you schedule where you are getting a hotel at. I can recommend some good places that won't fleece you and are close to decent/good restaurants.

Yeah, I've never been to one in South Bend. Grew up in South Central PA and still live in the same area today. It's about a 9 hour drive from where we'll be coming from. We actually already booked our hotel(I can't remember the name of it, my wife booked it, but it's like a mile away from the stadium she said) we're driving up Friday during the day and staying Friday and Saturday night. Any eating suggestions would be much appreciated! We'll be needing to eat lunch on gameday, so any sports bar/grill would be awesome.

Sports bar is easy for me. It is a Buffalo Wild Wings on Grape Road. It is massive with about 30 beers on tap and too many tvs to count. It sounds like you will be staying in Roseland on US31. The Buffalo wild wings is about 10 minutes with traffic. There is a Ruth Chris in Mishawaka. There is LaSalle Grill, Carmela's, Javier's Bistro. Then your typical chain places like Texas Roadhouse, Houlihans, Applebee's, and so on. The majority of places like that are by University Park Mall which is at the intersection of Cleveland and Grape roads.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. We'll probably end up at BWW's. We both like that, and I can get all my college football action in for the early games til we have leave for tailgating. Since it's a 7:30 start, I'd like to get to the stadium by like 4:00 to tour the campus(assuming we can) and tailgate a little.

I know that ti comes at a cost of seeing a lot college football on that day, but there will be plenty to see and do on campus all day long. You might consider giving yourself more time. There is generally a list of activities/events posted on the nd.edu and/or und.com websites that I would highly recommend checking out.

Yeah I'm still trying to decide what time I wanna get to campus. The hotel we're staying at is within walking distance, so I'd like to grab a bite to eat for lunch, head back to the hotel and then walk to the stadium. I might try and get there sooner though. I'll definitely have to check out those websites and see what's going on. All the ND games I've gone to have been on the road, and they've all been at neutral fields(Fed Ex, M&T Bank,The Linc, Yankee Stadium) so I never really cared about getting to the game super early, but this one I want to enjoy that whole game day atmosphere, while checking out the campus and its surroundings.

Stay with the campus. There is not much in the way if surroundings. Too bad they got rid of "the Pit". That was cool. It was where the ND basketball team practiced. Got to guard Laphonso Ellis in a camp I went to as a Senior.

okay, will do then. Thanks for input again. I'm curious as to how the campus is compared to like Penn State and College Park(Maryland) there is little to nothing around both stadiums.

Once you leave campus and stadium you are in South Bend. Not much in that part of town. You can go 2 miles south to downtown or over to Mishawaka for other things to do. Whatever you do. Do not...let me repeat do NOT go west of US31. That is the really bad part of South Bend. Which is pretty bad considering the size of South Bend.

We probably won't venture to far outside the actual campus/stadium itself with our hotel being so close. We'll probably just go back to the hotel after the game since its a 7:30 start and probably an 11:00 or so finish time. More so for things before the game. And is South Bend considered central time? Honest question I have no idea, without looking it up.
