I think ESPN is so successful and so big, they have way too many writers. I do agree that they seem to have more articles for the money than writing the "off-season forum topics." I don't know why ESPN Insider is not all over Fred Hoiberg right now. Will he stay in ISU with kids in a great HS and extended family right there or go to the Bulls?

I think some of ESPN's best writers are the CFB bloggers. I am a big fan of Adam Rittenberg. Him and Brian d a great job covering B1G football IMO. I hate how there are 3-4 B1G bloggers now. That is too many.

I still think they have great articles that are very informative, but too many that are just good discussion pieces.
They do have a few decent writers but i have a real hard time taking them serious with all the fluff and hype pieces. Much like the one in the OT. I also find there are other outlets with much more viable information. To be honest as a whole A lot of the posters here fminus the homers are spot on and do an amazing job. The huskers and VT boards led the pack for quite a while but the other teams really took shape.

I've gotten more negs today from Michigan fans than I have in my entire life for simply stating the obvious.

I actually think that Joyner did a good job on this article. I think 10 wins is possible for Michigan, but that is if they play really good and not have a bad game with an even or worse opponent. I don't think it will happen so quick, even with Harbaugh.

Joyner did bring up some good points. I think his "bottom line" point is dumb. When hasn't Michigan have talent? Michigan's coaching staff has improved and they have some strong experience. The big thing with Rudock is not only was he good at Iowa, but he played in a similar style of offense. Last year, they did have a strong rush defense, which will be big again in B1G. Top talent + easy schedule does not equal 10 wins. Top talent with experience working under strong coaching staff would be a better bottom line.

Utah is a solid squad.
Whatever happened with their coaching situation?

Didn't the OC at Utah jump ship or something? I have missed the news and am too lazy to go find out myself.

Their QB situation is abysmal. Rudock was beat out by some dude named Beathard at Iowa and had to transfer, and Morris blows men.
You might want to go check your facts again. Rudock was benched because they were just trying to do something, not because he was statistically bad. The guys who were bad were basically the rest of the offense. The QB they put in did significantly worse than Rudock. Rudock finished in the top half of all big ten QB's in pretty much every statistic and was top 3 in many significant ones.

I negged you because your points were bad ones. Stating the obvious is not a thing you can do when you're predicting future schedules.

It's the difference between me saying that Nebraska hired a garbage coach (which is stating the obvious) and saying that because of that they'll never win a big ten title in the next 10 years; something that's an opinion based on opinion.

The delusion is real with this one. It's OBVIOUS that Michigan is a middle of the road B1G team right now.

I can name 7-8 (probably more) teams in the B1G with a better QB, RB, WR trio, and they've got a defense that allowed 4.8 yards per play last season which returns most of its starters.

Therefore it's STATING THE OBVIOUS when you look at their schedule and pencil in losses against other middle of the road B1G teams.

MAIZE, you been sucked into an argument you can't win without results. Results are gonna be tough to come by this year. IMHO BYU wins by 17 and Utah by 10. Gonna make for a rough start.

You are supposed to make your predictions based on Wolverine fans blind homerism. Harbaugh is going to do what Brady couldn't and go 19-0 and the rest of the B1G will go 0-12. Step up your game yo. Facts have no place here on the Hoop. Grab your glass of Maize and Blue Kool-Aid and enjoy the ride.
